Tell us a little about yourselves!
We’re both physiotherapists from South Australia, and although we grew up on opposite sides of Adelaide, the bride in the beautiful Adelaide Hills and the groom in the heart of McLaren Vale, our worlds connected at a work Christmas party.
Since then, we’ve built a life filled with the things we love most, travelling the world together, discovering great food and wine, and spending quality time with our families and our much loved animals.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We wanted a venue that captured a European vibe while still feeling connected to our roots in the Adelaide Hills. Golding Wines was everything we dreamed of, beautifully landscaped, architecturally stunning, and surrounded by that timeless, romantic atmosphere we’d been searching for. The food was incredible, the setting was picture perfect, and the team ran everything seamlessly. It felt like the perfect place to celebrate our day.
How many guests did you have?
We had an intimate guest list of 85.
What was your budget?
80k. Did we stay within the budget? Of course not!
Tell us about your outfits.
I wore a simple yet beautifully effortlessly gown, featuring a high neckline, a low back, and subtle pearl detailing. The clean lines and minimalist silhouette were fitting the vibe of the day. Nothing overly complicated, just timeless design done perfectly. It was a dress chosen with longevity in mind, something I could look back on many years from now and still feel it captured elegance and classic beauty.
Tim wore a traditional black tuxedo, bringing a refined romantic charm that paired seamlessly with my timeless look.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
More than anything, we wanted our guests to have an incredible experience. Keeping the guest list intimate meant we could truly connect with everyone and share the day in a meaningful way.
Exceptional food was a must, as was choosing a venue where everything could unfold seamlessly in one beautiful location.
Inside the reception, we wanted it to feel like an elevated, romantic dinner party. Lots of candlelight created warmth, intimacy, and a sense of closeness that made the night feel truly special.
And, of course, we wanted the atmosphere to blend romance with pure fun. A lively dance floor was non-negotiable, and our musicians elevated the energy far beyond what we imagined, making the night unforgettable for everyone.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted our wedding to truly reflect who we are as a couple, so every detail was carefully chosen to feel elegant, simple, and timeless. Florals were especially important to us, not just for their beauty, but because of our shared love of nature. From the soft, cascading arrangements to the delicate blooms on the tables, they brought a gentle, organic connection between the outdoors and our celebration.
We were also drawn to the idea of creating a romantic, intimate atmosphere inside the reception. Candlelight played a huge role, casting a warm glow over the dinner-party-style tables and enhancing the feeling of closeness and elegance. Ultimately, every element from the flowers to the lighting and to the décor was about creating a space that felt both personal and timeless, a day that we and our guests could look back on and remember not just for the beauty, but for the warmth, romance, and love that surrounded us.
Any tips for couples getting married?
It truly is one of the best days of your lives, so savour every moment. Enjoy the process of planning, even though it can be stressful at times, because it all builds toward the magical day itself. On the day, allow yourself to be fully present in the whirlwind of emotions, laughter, and love. And once it’s all over, take a moment to soak in that incredible feeling of officially being husband and wife.. it’s unforgettable.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
We cannot speak highly enough of the Found Collective. From the very first consultation, they embraced our vision with creativity, warmth, and meticulous attention to detail. Every element they designed in the overall décor perfectly captured the elegant, timeless, and romantic atmosphere we had imagined. They have an incredible ability to transform a space, making it feel intimate, magical, and effortlessly beautiful.
I first discovered Katy Durn when a mutual friend shared their engagement photos, and I immediately thought, “Who took these? I need her!”. Her blend of candid moments with editorial flair was exactly what we wanted to capture the story of our day. On the wedding day, Katy Durn made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, allowing us to be ourselves and enjoy every moment. The photos she captured are not just images, they’re memories frozen in time, full of emotion, romance, and the genuine joy of our celebration.
