Tell us a little about yourselves!
We both recently turned 30 and are living in North-West London with our kitten, Trulli. Alex is an Art Director and Stylist. Tom works in strategy. We met on Tinder shortly after both moving to London.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We first visited Puglia back in 2019, just after we started dating. It was a spontaneous trip, the flights were cheap, we had no idea what to expect! We loved it so much that we returned every year after, later getting engaged there.
For us, it was always going to be Puglia, it’s a place full of memories and meaning. We specifically chose Masseria Moroseta as it captures the essence of Puglia perfectly. We’re also huge foodies and their chef Georgia is extremely talented.
How many guests did you have?
48 including us - and Joshua Woodland captured our day.
What was your budget?
Unfortunately, our budget wasn’t unlimited, so we focused on what mattered most to us – food and drink. Our venue was so unique that we didn’t need to go overboard with décor. We went for the ‘less is more’ approach.
Alex, being creative, designed and made all our stationery and instead of traditional wedding favours, we wrote each guest a personal note/poem, which they loved! It was thoughtful, meaningful, and incredibly personal.
Tell us about your outfits.
Tom’s jacket, shoes, and bow tie were from Mr Porter, while his trousers and shirt were from the high street. Tom focused on investing in a quality jacket and great loafers.
Alex’s bridal look was from Amare. I had always imagined wearing just one dress, but loved the idea of transforming it for different moments. My dress was 100% silk with a simple silhouette, which gave me the opportunity to have fun with accessories. For the ceremony, I wore a statement veil. For the aperitivo and dinner, I switched to an organza cape, adding drama to the look whilst getting the sleeves I had always dreamed. As the evening went on, I changed things up once more with a silk neck scarf.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The most important aspect when planning our wedding was that it felt like us in our element. We wanted our wedding to feel more like a relaxed, cool dinner party than a traditional wedding – amazing food, great wine, curated music, and time with our closest friends and family under the Italian sunshine.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We really wanted Puglia to be at the heart of everything we planned. We served wine from a local vineyard we visited just after getting engaged, had custom ceramics made specifically for the day, and added small nods to the region, like incorporating prickly pears into the florals. Every element was chosen to reflect the spirit and beauty of Puglia, a place that is so special to us.
Any tips for couples getting married?
One of the best things we did was purchase a 90’s camcorder, which we used throughout the entire wedding week. Guests passed it around on the wedding day, and now we have priceless footage that feels so real and authentic. It’s not polished, but that’s exactly what makes it special. I would strongly recommend investing in one!
Also it’s your wedding day. Enjoy every second!
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
All of our vendors were amazing, but I’d love to give a special shout-out to Thread and Vow. We were looking for signage and stationery that felt unique and personal, but everything we found felt either generic or wildly expensive. With a background in design and styling, I decided to make my own. What started as a personal project soon became Thread and Vow, a studio creating bespoke fabric signage for modern weddings.
