Tell us a little about yourselves!

We are both from Los Angeles, we grew up on the westside and went to the same high school, though we didn’t meet until later through mutual friends. At the time, I was home for winter break from art school in New York. Kramer came to visit me there a little while later and we’ve been together for ten years now! I’m now a book designer at the Getty Museum, and Kramer is a tennis instructor teaching throughout LA. We have a scruffy chihuahua mix named Daisy and recently moved back into the neighborhood where we both grew up.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We wanted to turn our wedding into a dream vacation with everyone we love. I’ve always been drawn to the ancient world, and I had quietly imagined getting married in Greece one day. When I found Cecilia Estate on The Anti-Bride, I hadn’t seen any other place as beautiful and knew it had to be there.

How many guests did you have?

We had 40 guests. It was perfect because we were able to spend real time with everyone. One of our favorite parts was watching friends hit it off with other friends and family members, who otherwise might never have met. We all sat down to dinner at one long table with the ocean behind us. It felt intimate and incredibly special.

Tell us about your outfits.

Kramer found his suit on our way to a camping trip last summer. We stopped at the Sunspel store in Montecito, and they had this deep indigo, lightweight cotton travel suit. He tried it on, and it was perfect.

For getting ready the morning of the wedding, I borrowed a bridal Juicy Couture tracksuit from my best friend Jess Purner, the same one she wore while getting ready for her own wedding. It was really special, the sisterhood of the traveling tracksuit.

The first dress I tried on was the Vivienne Westwood Camille dress from LOHO Bride. The drapery looked like fabric in a classical sculpture. I felt beautiful in it and completely like myself. No other dress gave me that same feeling. I wore a light blue veil to match the endless blue I had seen in photos of Corfu. I wore my great-aunt Bee’s diamond earrings, and a gold necklace with a little sun charm that I’ve worn every day since Kramer gave it to me when we first started dating.

I wanted to feel like myself, so I did my own makeup and kept my hair down. My friend Luna Cristales, an incredibly talented hairstylist, did my hair from the bridal shower through the wedding day, and I’ve truly never felt prettier.

I’m so glad I chose a wedding fragrance: Dior Diorissimo. It smells like lily of the valley, the flower I carried on our courthouse day and immediately fell in love with. I wore it throughout the trip, from the days leading up to the wedding through our honeymoon, and now whenever I wear it, it brings me straight back.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

With our friends and family traveling across the world, including my 91-year-old grandpa (!), we wanted to make sure the weekend was unforgettable for everyone.

We had never been to Corfu before, so everything was planned over video chats with our wedding planner, Goldie. I had so much fun planning it with her, we were always on the same page. She treated everything with love and care and made everything sparkle.

She also organized the most magical boat day with our friends and a rehearsal dinner at a sweet, family-run restaurant called Taverna Elizabeth the night before the wedding.

We didn’t know what to expect, but we trusted her completely and knew it would be beautiful. Every detail of the weekend exceeded our expectations beyond what we could have imagined.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

What made the wedding especially meaningful was how generously our friends brought their magic to the weekend. Some of them arrived early, and we spent three days exploring Athens together. They treated us to dinners, calmed our nerves, and celebrated with us, starting the trip with so much joy and excitement.

On the morning of the wedding, our friends Jack McCready and his husband Abe Barksdale, who both work in fashion, took on the task of steaming at least six people’s outfits. When the zipper on my dress broke, my friend Miranda Byk, an incredibly talented artist, quickly and expertly sewed it back together. My friend Giovanna Flores, a brilliant fashion designer, was the only one who could figure out how to bustle my dress.

The flowers were dreamed up by my friend Brittany Asch of Brrch Floral. Her concepts were installed and beautifully interpreted by the floral designer at Cecilia Estate, who is actually Goldie’s mother. For the ceremony, I carried a stem of blue delphinium instead of a bouquet. The aisle was lined with golden grasses leading to pink and red roses that looked like they were growing straight from the ground. At dinner, blue hydrangeas sat in teardrop-shaped vases like little droplets of water.

My cousin, Molly Fenton, officiated the ceremony, and standing up there with her felt incredibly special. Having our friends woven into every detail made the entire weekend feel deeply personal.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Have fun and try not to sweat the small stuff. Take it all in, this is such a rare and special time to celebrate your life together and soak up the love around you.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

I’ve said it before, but Goldie truly exceeded our expectations in every way. She made the entire weekend unbelievably beautiful and ensured everything ran seamlessly. She was there for us the whole time. So supportive, calm, and thoughtful. Our guests felt her light too, commenting on her great taste, her eye for detail, and the genuine love she brings to her work. Goldie and her family have made heaven on earth at Cecilia Estate. And the food was amazing!

Lyrody, the musicians who played during the ceremony, played a version of “Sprout and the Bean” by Joanna Newsom on the lyre and barbiton, and made the moment feel like a dream.

Carlotta and Gianluigi of We.Wedding Photography documented everything so beautifully and naturally. They both held such a relaxed, grounding presence and made us feel completely at ease, especially since we’re not used to being photographed. That day was filled with so much joy, and it shows in the photos.
