Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We chose our wedding location because I wanted something unique, not a venue everyone had used, and I loved that it was right on the water.

How many guests did you have?

142.

What was your budget?

Our venue budget was $180k however, I believe we went over. We didn't have a budget for dress/bridemaid dresses/suits etc.

Tell us about your outfits.

Both of my outfits were custom made in Perth by designers who work from home. My first dress was created by Isabel Aujoulet Couture, who also designed my bridesmaids' dresses. I didn't see my gown until the week of the wedding, but from the moment I met Isabel, I knew I could trust her - she was absolutely lovely.

My second dress was by Kevin from Galleria Couture. We've worked with him for year. In fact, my mum first used his services when she was pregnant with me! Kevin and his wife are truly incredible

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

My planner (see comments below). She'd probably say I was a very absent bride! Planning wasn't fun for me. I didn't like the admin haha - so she found herself chasing me up constantly (sorry, Court).

I did, however, have three non-negotiables for the wedding: no flowers, only greenery; no straight tables; and a light show.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The most important thing for us was family.

Any tips for couples getting married?

For the bride, I highly recommend a shorter, more comfortable outfit to change into - the long dress can become quite painful as the day goes on. Also, choose a venue that can accommodate more guests than you initially expect, so you have the flexibility to include everyone you'd like.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Switch Creative was incredible - Courtney, was an absolute dream to work with. I couldn't recommend her more. She went above and beyond, and I still keep in touch with her and plan to for years to come, not only for future events but as a friend.

My photographer Natasja Kremers was amazing as well - we received so many compliments on the photos, and the bridal party loved how relaxed the experience was. It didn't feel like one of those weddings where taking photos became overwhelming.

And the food from Mi Scusi, people are still talking about it! Honestly, I couldn't fault anyone - every vendor was amazing.
