Tell us a little about yourselves!

Daniel and I met seven years ago in San Francisco and have been inseparable since. Together we have lived in the Bay Area, San Diego, Sydney (Australia), and now Colorado. Throughout our travels we have made so many amazing friends and experienced so many different chapters! We share a love of cooking, music, and art.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We decided to get married in McKenna’s grandparents’ backyard in Colorado because it represented everything that we wanted our wedding day to be. Down to earth and casual with the primary focus on celebrating our love surrounded by our closest family and friends. Fall in Colorado is such a gorgeous time and we felt that it was the perfect setting to host loved ones from every chapter of our lives.

How many guests did you have?

We celebrated with 110 guests on October 4th, 2025, with a budget of $30,000 for the welcome party and wedding.

Tell us about your outfits.

Daniel wore a custom suit and leather loafers from Blackstock & Weber. McKenna wore a vintage-inspired long sleeve, high neck lace gown from Anthropologie. She also wore leopard print heels to honor her late great-grandmother, and gold Art Deco drop earrings from her great aunt.

Daniel wore Le Labo’s Thé Noir 29 and McKenna wore Le Labo’s Thé Matcha 26.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

The most important aspect to us was removing any unnecessary stress from our day, and making sure our guests were comfortable. We are both incredibly family-oriented and some of our most favorite memories are moments shared at family dinners and backyard barbecues. We wanted our day to feel like one big backyard party, with a focus on great music and incredible food.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Food and music were among the most important elements for us to incorporate. Coming from a hospitality background, both of us felt that our love for food should be highlighted and shared.

The cheese boards were made by McKenna’s cousin (also a professional chef), and the street taco plate was an ode to Daniel’s hometown of San Diego. The reggae and yacht rock heavy playlist tied it all together to create a really easy-going and positive vibe.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Stay true to who you are and what is most important to you as a couple, because those are the things that you will continue to remember long after the wedding is over. The small details fade away, but the emotions and intentions behind your wedding are what will stick with you forever!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We had the privilege to work with Madison Katlin Photography, our wedding photographer, who captured the day so beautifully. We have memories we can cherish for a lifetime due to her incredible work!

We would also love to highlight Artemis Flower Farm, who focuses on sustainable farming and reducing the carbon footprint of wedding florals.
