Tell us a little about yourselves!

We’re Tania and Daniel — originally from Russia, now based in London. We met here in 2021 through a mutual friend, despite having studied at the same university back home (without ever crossing paths). Since then, things moved quickly — in the best way.

Tania works in investment banking, focused on M&A. She's structured, driven, and the kind of person who finishes everything to perfection — whether it's a deal, a cappuccino, or a workout. Outside of work, she’s into photography (film only), fitness (she is a former professional rhythmic gymnast), and secretly dreams of opening a cozy coffee shop.

Daniel works in a bank, developing crypto products. He's the opposite of Tania’s structured nature — impulsive, curious, and always onto the next thing. That’s included playing three instruments, visiting 50+ countries, and developing a minor obsession with houseplants. He’s also the one who

proposed at The Shard — London’s tallest building — main rationale being the fact it’s visible from almost anywhere in the city.

We’re different in almost every way, but somehow it works. Most days are a mix of debates over coffee, playlists bouncing between Soviet pop classics and Pink Floyd, and a shared belief that life should be full of good food, new places, and a bit of chaos.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We chose Turkey as neutral ground: it was geographically convenient for most of our guests coming from West and East, and, importantly, visa-free.

The wedding took place at a boutique hotel tucked into nature, where we had an entire villa area to ourselves. It was quiet, surrounded by mountains, and completely ours for the weekend. No strangers, no interruptions – just the people we love in one place, away from everything else.

How many guests did you have?

36, including us.

Tell us about your outfits.

So White is a beautifully handcrafted bridal label hailing from Baku, Azerbaijan — and it was love at first sight for Tania. The moment she slipped into the gown, she knew it was the one, saying an immediate “yes” to the dress.

For the second look, Tania chose a chic mini dress from Aje, the renowned Australian fashion house known for its modern, feminine silhouettes.

To complete both ensembles, she adorned herself with timeless Dior accessories, adding a touch of elegance and luxury to every moment of the day.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

For Tania, it was all about the setting and cohesion — a private, natural location, a clear visual concept, and a defined colour code. Nothing random, nothing generic — everything needed to feel intentional.

For Daniel, priorities were sound and numbers. A good playlist was non-negotiable. So was the budget... at least in theory. We ended up doubling the original target.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

For us, a defined wedding concept was essential. We chose harmony and reconnection with nature as the guiding theme: a boutique hotel, located amidst pine tree forest in the mountains, stone-crafted villas with a private pool surrounded by fruit trees, yoga class at midday on the wedding day - all added to the concept.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Start early. Give yourself time to make decisions properly — not under pressure. A good wedding planner is essential: someone you trust and who can take ownership of the process. And before you dive into details, define your key priorities — it helps structure your budget and keeps you focused.

Also: not everything will go to plan. It’s fine. Things will go off-track, get delayed, or feel overpriced (often because they indeed are). Don’t spiral — negotiate where you can, then move on. Having structure helps. We used a massive planning Google sheet that tracked everything — budgets, vendor comparisons, guest list, playlists, calls, notes, all in one place. Total lifesaver.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Our wedding planner Elena from Marry Me in Turkey was absolutely essential. She supported us throughout the entire planning process and handled everything on-site during the event — including managing multiple issues with the hotel. Elena took the lead in resolving the problems and made sure our wedding experience stayed on track uninterrupted and 10/10.

Our photographer, Sasha Dove, captured everything exactly as it felt — her photos don’t need explanation.

Our host Andrei brought a level of ease and energy that made the day flow seamlessly. It felt like he had known every guest for years, and nothing ever felt forced or overly formal.
