Tell us a little about yourselves!Â
We first met back in 2012 - Randi was living in Spain, and Kenneth was there on holiday. Our very first date was at a little Italian restaurant in Alicante’s old town - red-checked tablecloths, plates of lasagne and vongole, maybe that’s where the Italy dream was born. From that moment, it’s been us.Â
We love travelling and seeing the world together with our little family - just the two of us and our 10-year-old daughter. Ever since we met, we’ve talked about one day swapping the cold Scandinavian winters for a slower life in Italy when we’re older.Â
Italy has completely stolen our hearts - the lifestyle, the way people look at life – it’s something we truly value. So when it came to our wedding, it felt only natural to celebrate it there.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?Â
Gathering everyone we love in Italy had always been the dream. Even though we were together for quite a few years before Kenneth finally popped the question, we’d always said that when the day came, we wanted to get married in Italy. There’s just something about the culture, the food, the people, the nature, and all those beautiful places that made it feel like the most natural choice.Â
We didn’t just want a celebration of us, but a celebration of love - love for each other, love itself, and love for all the special people in our lives who shared this day with us. A celebration with a focus on our extended family, La Famiglia. And really, what could be more perfect than hosting that celebration in Italy?
How many guests did you have?Â
We were 65 in total - our closest family and friends.
Tell us about your outfits.Â
For the welcome dinner, I wore a simple and elegant dress from Shona Joy, sandals from By Malene Birger, and a light blue silk bag from Nanushka.Â
Finding the wedding dress turned out to be a little more challenging than I first thought. I went to fittings at bridal boutiques and tried on the most beautiful gowns – but they just felt wrong. Like I was playing dress-up in a costume.Â
Then, about six months before the wedding, I came across the dresses from Kettel Atelier - a Scandinavian up-and-coming designer - and everything just clicked. I sent a message to Laura, the designer behind Kettel Atelier, asking if she had the time and possibility to create a dress for me before the wedding, and luckily, she did.Â
Kettel Atelier is a vintage-inspired label that designs pieces using vintage linens and textiles Laura finds at markets and other hidden gems. And I just loved that idea - that old, beautiful fabrics with a history could be turned into something special for a new moment in life. Maybe my dress had once been a tablecloth – one that had been part of family dinners, celebrations, and everyday life. It felt so right, and so connected to our vision for the wedding – celebrating La Famiglia and love.Â
Since Laura lives in Spain and I’m in Norway, I sent her some inspiration pictures, and we had a FaceTime call. It turned out we have almost the exact same measurements, so she was able to create the sample directly on herself. We made a few small adjustments, and a few days later, the dress was on its way from Spain to me. When I finally opened the box and put it on, everything just felt right. This was my dress.Â
Then I came across Stierneslør on Instagram - a Norwegian designer who creates beautiful bridal veils from materials and lace she sources from different countries. She had just found the most stunning Italian guipure lace - a wide, intricate design with sections that looked almost like a delicate fishnet, reminiscent of some of the very first lace ever made. It was perfect. She used it to design the most beautiful veil for me - a true one-of-a-kind piece.Â
Before the wedding, Kenneth probably mentioned like ten times that he wanted me to go barefoot during the ceremony - and I ended up barefoot the whole day. It just felt like the perfect way to highlight the chill, natural vibe we were going for.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?Â
The most important thing for us was to create a relaxed, close, and family-like atmosphere where everyone could just enjoy themselves and have a good time. We wanted it to feel like being with your big family, making memories together that would last a lifetime.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
The visual side was super important to us too — we wanted to create a magical backdrop for the whole experience, a beautiful setting that would set the vibe for how we wanted everything to feel. A lot of pieces fell into place when we found Valentina and Lalindi Events. She has an amazing eye for visuals and details, plus an artistic touch that we totally fell for. We knew right away that Valentina could really bring to life the vibe and mood we imagined for our La Famiglia-style wedding.
We wanted our wedding to feel laid-back and effortless, framed by a beautiful setting that would bring everyone together for a few unforgettable days. Valentina from Lalindi Events, along with Samantha Rivieccio and everyone involved, brought that vision to life in the most perfect way - interpreting our ideas so brilliantly that the result was even better than we could have imagined. We honestly couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect outcome.Â
From the welcome dinner, where we recreated the feeling of sitting out in a backyard with your extended family - under laundry lines swaying gently in the warm evening light - a true La Famiglia atmosphere, to the garden ceremony where the flowers and décor acted as a subtle, natural backdrop. The floral arrangements blended seamlessly with the blooms and greenery already growing there, enhancing the relaxed, bohemian vibe without ever overpowering it.Â
Any tips for couples getting married?Â
Don’t be afraid to make it your own. It’s your day. Skip all those old-school rules that don’t feel right for you, and do what truly feels right for you. And don’t stress about perfection — often, the most beautiful moments happen in those little in-between times, when things just flow naturally and not everything is planned down to the tiniest detail.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
We had complete trust in Valentina and her team from LaLindi, and honestly, we’re beyond thrilled with the crew, including our photographer Samantha Rivieccio, who helped create our dream wedding. Not only are they insanely talented, but they were also such lovely, easy-going people to be around — it felt like having friends with you that you’ve known for years. They made it so easy for us to just be present in the moment and fully enjoy our day, soaking it all in.
