Tell us a little about yourselves!Â
We met in June 2020, right in the middle of COVID, and slowly started uncovering all the funny, unexpected connections between us. Our first date was a lakeside picnic so windy we could barely hear each other—ironically, the same kind of wind showed up on our wedding day. Playfulness is a big part of who we are as a couple; we don’t take life too seriously and put having fun at the centre of everything.Â
Drummond is the founder of Fairgrounds Public Racket Club—a modern take on the classic racquet club—blending sport, culture, and community across Canada. Hannah is a product manager at Instacart, helping turn ideas into products people actually love to use.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?Â
With a future wedding weekend planned on an island in South Carolina—a place that’s been the backdrop to years of family memories for both—we wanted to begin with something deeply intimate. A simple civil ceremony in Toronto meant our grandparents could be part of the day, and gave us this rare moment to just be fully present with our families.Â
We both come from big families—two younger brothers each—so having that unrushed time together to honour our families joining felt really special.Â
Toronto is where we met, fell in love, and got engaged. No matter where life takes us, it will always be home.
How many guests did you have?Â
Intimate family only - 10.
What was your budget?Â
Small intimate ceremony.
Tell us about your outfits.Â
Hannah wore an off-white Toteme long-sleeve dress paired with black Prada slingbacks. She found a lace veil on Etsy and worked with the maker to have it dyed to perfectly match the dress. Her jewellery carried family history—her emerald engagement ring from Drummond’s grandmother, and a necklace worn by her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on their wedding days.Â
Drummond wore a custom school-boy–inspired suit.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?Â
We weren’t trying to follow a formula—we just wanted the day to feel like us.Â
Our priorities for the day were surrounding ourselves with our closest family and our favorite rituals—slow mornings and coffee at home and martinis at our go-to neighborhood French bistro to end the night.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?Â
We live in a unique heritage building in a residential neighbourhood - Summerhill - with a Group of Seven mural painted across the lobby ceiling. The space feels so tied to our story—our first home together, where we got engaged, and eventually married—so incorporating it into our photos felt like a way to honour the place that quietly held all of it.
Any tips for couples getting married?Â
Stay true to exactly what you want. The best inspiration is often inward.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?Â
3B Photography: We could not have loved working with Brjánn & Ryanne more. They captured the day with so much ease and intention, and made space for fun and play to be at the centre of it all.Â
Timberlost (Florals): Lauren is a dear friend, and we instantly knew she had to create our florals. Her work is wildly thoughtful and completely her own; being part of her process was a joy.
