Tell us a little about yourselves!

Pat and Ange or Doggo and Flange, it’s a long standing relationship, we’ve been together for ever.

We’re incredibly easy going and fit perfectly together, nothing is ever too serious, and we get the night time giggles every night. There’s a lot of love with us but an even more amount of like, it’s a safe and very happy place to be. We’ve never met a cranky swimmer or anything that can’t be fixed with a dip, if we can we choose to drive instead of fly so we can talk the whole way. We cherish the people around us dearly.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We got married overlooking the rockpool in Cronulla because it’s our place. Ange refuses to swim in the open ocean, Pat will take any chance to be in the water—so the rockpool is our middle ground. It’s our ritual, morning or night. After the ceremony, we wandered over to our local bowlo for beers, a meat raffle, dancing, and really good food. It’s somewhere we like to spend a Friday arvo playing gin rummy at sunset, unpacking our weeks.

It just felt right to celebrate in the places that already meant so much to us.

How many guests did you have?

146 of our closest.

What was your budget?

The budget was 50k and we cracked 52k, a success!

Tell us about your outfits.

Ange went for a short dress—she’s always been a mini girl—but added long puff sleeves to elevate it. Pat was initially very unsure about the puff situation, but after the first look, he was relieved. The mega wedges were Ange’s attempt to close the gap on Pat’s 6’4” height… ambitious, but ultimately unsuccessful.

Pat and the boys wore brown suits as a nod to the vintage feel of the day. With Ange being a proud thrifter, it was important that everything felt authentic, a little bit crafty, and full of character.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We really wanted everyone to feel included—comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely part of the day. That sense of ease was everything to us, (an easy walk home for most was a bonus). Ange also loved weaving in little crafty touches along the way. We got engaged in September 2025, sent invites within the week, and were married by January 2026. We wanted to ride that engagement high straight into the wedding, no overthinking.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The personal touches mattered most—handmade signs, thoughtful details, and vows written with a lot of love. We wanted it to feel like us at every turn.

Pat: ‘today is a good day and every day with Ange is a good day.’

Ange: ‘Pat you love the sunshine and I think you are the sunshine’.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Make sure you actually like each other—not just love each other. Plan it quickly—don’t drag it out. Keep the momentum and the excitement.Choose vendors who genuinely care about your day and will back you all the way. Be just as comfortable with your wet weather plan as you are with your sunny one.

Ange hand wrote our invites on Palm cards, it was the quirky and homely touches that made it our day from the beginning.

And remember, not everything needs to be new, Use what you’ve got where you can.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Jackson Grant, our King and Queen in one. Ange met Jacko a few years ago working a wedding together, and within the first five mins said ‘mate when my day comes you’ll be there’ at this point she hadn’t even delved into his work this was based purely on personality and how instantly comfortable she felt, then came his outrageously one of a kind work, she’d never seen anything like it before. His work genuinely makes you feel a day, it is what weddings are supposed to be, crispy clean, cheeky and cute. We had Pats Grandmother ask for Jackos number post wedding to personally thank him, everyone in that room wanted to be him or date him.

And! Our darling florist Poppy Galloway, Ange worked alongside Poppy years ago she is the gentlest soul with the most creative mind I’ve ever met. Everything she does is one of a kind, she simply leans away from what everyone else in the industry does and I’m forever in awe of her creativity.
