What would you like couples to know about Bonnie Lass Films?
Creating wedding films for the past seven years, my philosophy is to first and foremost ensure the couple is enjoying their wedding day. We strive to ensure our films are brimming with emotion, wedding days go by so quickly that merely capturing the events of the day packaged in a shiny film is not enough – clients want to be transported back to the feelings of the day, encapsulated in a memory they can keep forever.

How would you describe your style?
Our style is best described as classic, modern, creative and romantic.
What inspires you?
Cinema, notably old Hollywood romance. The slow paced glamour, never rushing through a moment. The ultimate simplicity of it all, with emotional at the centre and beautiful clean imagery at the forefront is something that will never tire.
What motivates you to do what you do?
My love for films, art, photography and the human condition. We witness an outpouring of love between people, in all manner of relationships, every time we turn up to work. Having a window into one of the most special days of our couples lives, witnessing all of the moments, big and small, that create a wedding day will never get old.
How would you describe your working style?
Relaxed, friendly, fly on the wall approach. Our aim is to be as unobtrusive as possible and to gently guide when needed.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
We love to use our Super 8 film cameras when the occasion calls for it, although we keep each couples individual style (and the style of the wedding) in mind when choosing which equipment to use, in order to maintain a cohesive style throughout the film.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
We have set packages as well as the option for a tailored package. We often make suggestions and help guide our couples when making this decision.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
We love our raw edits. To us it feels like reliving the day in the most authentic way possible.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
Our dream destination would be anywhere in Africa.
Who is your dream client?
We truly love any couple who appreciates our art and trusts us to do our thing, as well as any couple who is truly intentional about their day. We love when a day feels like a true reflection of the couple.
How do you select music to your films?
Based on the couple and the energy of the day. We have certain genres that are our favourites but at the end of the day, once you capture the styling, the energy of the guests, the way the couple engages with one and another, the style of the music is often determined by all of these elements.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
To really consider each aspect of your day, whether its something that is important to you or if you’re simply just following tradition. I believe couples enjoy their day the most when they have created the perfect day for them, and not the masses. Your enjoyment comes first, so if you believe something as simple as getting ready together in the morning, rather than separately, will be more enjoyable and lead to a better day, do that. There are no rules.
