Jen and Craig live in Toronto but picked Palm Springs as their location because the couple love to travel. "The desert is one of our favourite spots on earth (our venue, is also where we got engaged). We picked September 29th as our wedding date because it was my mom’s birthday. She passed away when I was a kid and we wanted to honour her memory at the wedding (the lady in the pink dress is my step-mom)." Instead of a traditional bridal party Jen and Craig had a man of honour, the bride's brother, and a best woman, Craig’s sister. "We also wanted our dog to be at our wedding so we took two weeks off and drove from Toronto to California so we could have her there — also the drive was pretty awesome. Our leather place cards by Local Laser Co. were tied to pieces of chalcopyrite that we picked up in Moab, Utah during our road trip west. Coincidentally, it’s a stone that’s associated with new beginnings."
Jen wore a colourful, printed dress from Temperley London, which she purchased from LoversLand. "I wore colour because every white dress I tried on felt like a costume and I was so lucky to have my hairdresser Chris Wood, from Medulla & Co. fly all the way from Toronto to make sure that my hair was on point."
Instead of a wedding cake the couple decided to have donuts. "Everyone was too busy dancing when they were served so we ate them at the pool the next day!"
"Our guests were family who are friends and friends who are family - and the evening was filled with amazing tunes, tequila, tacos, tears and even some nudity! It was perfect."
