Real Wedding | Emma + Harrison

Tell us about yourselves!

We crossed paths half a decade back, just after I'd wrapped up a twelve-year chapter abroad. His magic tricks left me spellbound and we quickly developed a connection over shared affection for red wine and all things European.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

The natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere and intimate setting. The experience at Merribee felt akin to enjoying a leisurely, long lunch in the Italian countryside.

How many guests did you have?

47.

What was your budget?

With no strict budget in place, we consciously directed our resources towards what truly mattered to us, prioritising exquisite food and wine over floral arrangements and elaborate decorations.

Tell us about your outfits.

I opted for a green wedding Rachel Gilbert dress to break away from tradition and stay true to my personal style.

Harrison complemented the theme with a green silk bow tie we found during our time in Florence.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Keep it simple! We deliberately avoided getting caught up in elements that didn't hold much significance for us.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

To encourage mingling during Cocktail Hour, we had lawn games set up.

Recognising Harrison’s gift for public speaking, I wanted to do something special for my vows by writing a poem that captured our unique connection.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Seriously consider engaging a Wedding Coordinator. It will help you through the last couple of months immensely and ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day itself.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Jess&Matt of Oberon Lane's beautiful acoustics truly contributed to making our wedding day everything we had dreamed of.

As someone who tends to be camera-shy, Zoë Morley excelled in crafting a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
