Real Wedding | Cloé + Christophe

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Christophe and I met when I was a design school student. I met him in a nightclub. I was walking up the stairs and he approached me. I remember that I first liked his voice, then I liked his appearance. It was kind of a love at first sight. Then we dated during 7 years, became parents to two children and finally decided to get married.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

My paternal grandmother Carmen is originally from Spain, so we go to Costa Brava often. Just after getting engaged, we had amazing family vacation there. When we got back home, I looked up if it was possible to get married in Spain. I easily found Hotel El Far, contacted them and we decided to go there to visit. Christophe and I loved it and that was it!

How many guests did you have?

Around 110.

Tell us about your outfits.

I bought my Miu Miu shoes while shopping in Le Bon Marché with my best friend Anais just after getting engaged. I designed my wedding dress with the help of Noemie Rebibo, my design teacher when I studied. I did the sketches, then we went to look for materials together in Paris. It was great to be able to chose every detail and see the whole process of wedding dress making. We decided through the process that the dress would first be with the piece wrapped around the shoulders, then just the bustier and the tulle gloves for the second look. Noemie made my embellished veil as well. Christophe was not in a hurry to get his outfit because he’s not really a suit type of man. A few months before the wedding day he found Chris Von Martial, a tailor in Paris willing to make him a custom suit in less time that bigger brands . It turns out she was really nice as well!

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Christophe wanted to make sure it was easy for everybody to get there . He wanted to make sure everybody was happy and in a good mood, so we had meetings with friends and family to tell them about the lovely place Llafranc is, the accommodation, the way to get there etc.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

I always wanted to include my maternal grandmother, who I loved very deeply and passed away when I was a child, at our wedding - but I didn't know how. Then 3 months before the wedding I lost my paternal grandmother unexpectedly. My mother mentioned them both in her speech, and I wore their jewellery. It made the wedding celebration very moving - but I was very happy that they were in everybody’s mind, as well as mine, on this special day.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Valeria Pitarresi our photographer, who was lovely before we even met and was great during the wedding day - and is still a lovely person and in my friendship group now that the wedding is over!

Silvia Lindoso from Fresh and Wood, our wedding planner and designer who did such an amazing job even not being able to understand each other well because of language barrier.

The musicians from Tu Musica Events were equally talented, and nice people too!
