Anna and Andy traveled from their home in Melbourne, road tripped around the west of the United States and eloped in Joshua Tree National Park with only their photographer Justine Montigny and their celebrant Marie (aka Let's get married by Marie) as witnesses. They settled on Joshua Tree after considering other National Parks in the United States because of its simplicity, quiet and overall “other worldly” landscape. They exchanged vows in the shade of their Airbnb and finished with portraits a few miles into the park as the sunset. Their ceremony was low-key and laid-back with the bride wearing a Nicholas dress and stunning jewellery by Lucy Folk and By NYE.

Anna was never the girl who dreamed of a wedding. "I knew if I were to ever get married I would want to elope. There’s something romantic about the idea of running away (or flying) and just doing what you both want."

The couple loved the Californian desert and its National Parks. "It is one of our favourite places and we knew we had to get married somewhere outside in a beautiful and natural location."

The couple's advice? "If you’re thinking about eloping, just do it! It was the best decision we had made and was right for us. Eloping doesn’t mean it’s any less special. If anything, I was blown away by how magical our day was!"
