Real Wedding | Allyson + Daniel

Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met over 5 years ago and shared a cheeseburger, it was the first of many things we would share with the latest being our vows. He’s 29, a truck driver and motorcyclist. I’m 25, a nanny and bookworm. Together we parent a bulldog, Foxy, and a demonic feline, Milton.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

The vibe check passed. We wanted something simple, cozy, and intimate. We turned to AirBNB and found the perfect venue called Cottage at the Ridge on a hill in Spring Hill Tennessee.

How many guests did you have?

Seventeen.

Tell us about your outfits.

Daniel chose a timeless tux but spiced it up with a bowtie and gold buckle loafers.

I chose an elevated version of my everyday wear and wore a chic, well structured, and simple Alyssa Kristin from Wedding Studio in Carmel. I was able to play around with different accessories to create the vision that defined me. I found inspiration in the young Presleys and the ‘60s but incorporated my own modern twist. I love details in clothing that set pieces apart from the rest such as the structure and boning in my dress, pearls on the bottom of my shoes, and the custom gloves created from my mother’s wedding dress.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Most important to us was to have fun. We wanted to stay true to ourselves and discussed deeply what mattered to us and focused our energy into those areas. Without that communication we could’ve never created a day as perfect as ours.

I walked down the aisle to Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley which is my grandmother’s favorite song and really spoke to the whole vibe of the wedding.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Although we were both scared to do it we decided that writing our own vows would be the most meaningful and unique memory we could give each other. Ultimately, the vows we wrote were almost identical which is something we will always remember.

Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?

You don’t have to follow the 'rules' of a traditional wedding. There will never be the absolute perfect time/venue/cake/dress/etc…but you can always make it the perfect day with the perfect person.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Frankie Isabel, our photographer. Frankie’s grace and genuine smile always made us feel comfortable to be ourselves in front of her camera. We wanted to create art and that is exactly what Frankie did. The photography speaks for itself.
