Tell us about VBA Studio!
My passion for photography began in my early twenties, during a six-month journey through India. Armed with nothing more than a small point-and-shoot camera, I found myself completely captivated by the art of capturing moments; the colours, the faces, the stories unfolding in front of me. That experience sparked something in me that has never faded. I started my career as a travel and street portraiture photographer, and I think that background naturally shapes my approach to wedding photography. I always seek out genuine emotion, connection, and the beauty found in unguarded moments.
Whilst travelling the world and quietly observing how others live, I learned to see the poetry in the everyday. A skill that’s become the foundation of my documentary approach to weddings. I love capturing those unspoken, fleeting moments between family and friends that often go unnoticed. My experience stopping strangers on the street to take their portraits taught me to connect quickly and make people feel at ease, which now helps me create more editorial, intimate portraits on a wedding day. My passion for photography isn’t just visual; it’s rooted in a deep love of human connection and the art of turning those emotions into something timeless.
What would you like couples to know about you?
I approach photography with kindness and without ego. It’s not about me, it’s about my couples feeling comfortable, relaxed, and genuinely themselves in front of the camera. My main goal is that when they look through their wedding gallery, it feels authentic to them and that it takes them right back to how the day felt. I’m naturally good at reading people and knowing when to quietly step back or gently step in, so I can capture those moments in a way that feels honest and unforced.
I’m deeply passionate and dedicated to my work. Photography isn’t just a job for me, it’s something I live and breathe. I’m constantly refining my craft and pushing myself creatively. I have a particular love for film photography, which I blend seamlessly throughout a wedding day to bring a depth to the story. Ultimately, I want people to feel that everything I do comes from a place of genuine care, connection, and love for the art of capturing human moments.
Where are you based?
In the South of France.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! Travel is a huge passion of mine, so I love any excuse to jump on a plane.
How would you describe your style?
My approach to wedding photography is emotionally honest, and quietly refined. I blend documentary storytelling with a modern editorial approach, using a mix of digital and film to create images with depth and sincerity. My focus is always on connection over perfection. I aim to create photographs that feel authentic, cinematic, and deeply human. A reflection of love, emotion, and the beauty found in honest moments.
What inspires you?
I find inspiration in many places, but three sources in particular have shaped the way I see and create. First, I’m constantly inspired by other photographers, not just within the wedding world, but across genres like fashion and photojournalism. I’m a huge book lover and have a growing collection of photo books from artists I admire; spending time with their work has quietly trained my eye and deepened my understanding of visual storytelling.
Travel is another major influence. It feels like a form of meditation for me. Slowing down, observing, and experiencing new cultures refines the way I see light, colour, and human connection.
And finally, cinematography plays a huge role in my creative process. I’ve always been drawn to film from art house cinema to documentaries.
How would you describe your working style?
Collaborative.
Do you shoot digitally or on film?
Both.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes, I offer bespoke packages. I start with a base rate for a set number of hours, then talk with each couple to understand their priorities and vision. Together, we create a package that feels right for them and perfectly fits their day.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
The wedding weekend. For me a wedding is a story, so to document the whole weekend adds so many layers to the final gallery. I love to get to know the couple and guests more intimately and I really think this translates into the photos.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
India, Botswana and Japan.
Who is your dream client?
Someone who’s authentic, kind and trusts my vision.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Your energy on the day defines everything. Don’t stress the small stuff, that’s what your vendors are for!
