With a decade of teamwork, Raissa And Simon are experienced photographers and perfectly in tune. Film photography is an essential part of their work and they provide their couples with images in both analogue and digital formats, as well as Super 8 — adding another layer and depth to each love story they capture. The duo establishes a strong connection with their couples in order to create authentic, timeless, and emotive images. Raissa And Simon are based in Southern Germany and frequently photograph weddings in Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Portugal.
Tell us about Raissa And Simon!
Hi, we’re Raissa and Simon from Southern Germany — photographers and filmmakers, in business for 10 years, capturing weddings, both digitally and on film, all across Europe. Our aesthetic is influenced by art, fashion, and design — but it’s people and the love they celebrate that inspire us most.
Oh, and we’re married, too. When we’re not photographing weddings, we’re spending time with our dog in nature, catching up with friends and family, or traveling.
What would you like couples to know about you?
We are inspired by creative couples who love authenticity, fashion, and design, live out emotions and feelings, celebrate themselves and joyously with their guests, and follow their own path in everyday life and on their wedding day. Our ambition is to create contemporary, aesthetic, and authentic images that capture and evoke emotion, with a documentary-style approach and timeless value.
For us, feeling the vibe and building a connection is the key to creating authentic, timeless, and emotional images.
Where are you based?
We are based in Southern Germany, but we’re fortunate to travel across Europe, capturing weddings in countries like Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Portugal, and Germany.
How would you describe your style?
Our photography blends fashion editorial and a documentary-style approach, creating images that reflect the personality of each couple and their guests in a timeless, natural way. Through this, our goal is to create images that capture and evoke emotion.
For us, film photography is also an integral part of our work. The limited number of frames drives us to be deeply present, and takes us out of our comfort zones to push creative boundaries. Shooting on film provides an organic quality that can’t be replicated. The soft grain, rich tones, and organic feel of film photography create images that reveal light, texture, and emotion in a way that feels almost cinematic.
How would you describe your working style?
Our working style is relaxed and documentary, where we are fully present, always there but never intrusive, offering a helping hand when needed. We let moments unfold naturally, with curiosity and a keen eye for detail. Everything we do is designed to ensure that we have a great time together.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
We shoot digital, film, and Super 8.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Yes, we offer custom packages tailored to individual needs. We’re also happy to accompany you over several days, based on your preferences. Various add-ons such as additional hours, photo books, and highlight films can easily be added during the planning process.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
Besides analog photography, we love creating highlight wedding films, which are crafted alongside our photographic work. We do not aim for completeness here. Rather, we strive to create an emotional, authentic short film that takes you back to the atmosphere and dynamics of the day. The digital highlight film can even be combined with analog Super 8 footage into one film.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
We’ve always dreamed of capturing a garden wedding at a mid-century villa in Palm Springs. Besides that, we always love being and working in Italy.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Have a good time and stay true to yourselves at your wedding! That means surrounding yourself with kind-hearted people and vendors you truly connect with.
The best photos happen in moments when you let go, open up to each other and your feelings, don’t take yourselves too seriously, maybe even laugh at yourselves, and forget about the camera. That’s when authentic images are created, ones you’ll recognize yourselves in and truly love.
