Sini Choi from Sincerely, Sini is based in NYC and CA, traveling often to document weddings worldwide. She strives to document the narrative of a wedding day in a way that preserves the way one  experiences it. With an intuitive, artful and detail-focused approach, Sincerely, Sini creates imagery that documents the sincere essence of love, highlighting thoughtful design elements and heartfelt connections along the way.

What would you like couples to know about you?

I consider myself to be on the quieter side, so I’m naturally drawn to the fleeting moments  that tend to slip away. My approach is unobtrusive and comfortable, leaving room for something true, something poetic. I’m curious about the nuances of human interaction,  delighted by artful fantasy and pulled by moments of honesty.

Where are you based?

I split my time between California and NYC.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, my love for travel runs deep!

How would you describe your style?

I approach every wedding I document with storytelling in mind. I want to be able to preserve the small, split second moments that nevertheless play an integral part in the narrative of your wedding day. I want to be there to show you and help you remember even years down the road, how you felt - and loved - in that moment in time. I strive to create imagery that make you feel vs. ones that are 'technically correct'. Why should all photographs be sharp when our memories aren’t, and moments fleeting?

What is your most memorable career moment?

As cliché as this may sound, I’m not sure if I can pinpoint a highlight in my career. Every wedding I’ve documented and every couple I’ve built a relationship with has impacted my work in various ways. Very often, my couples graciously welcome me into their circle of  loved ones with open arms and shower me with overwhelming love. I’m forever grateful for the relationships I’ve grown into throughout my career. As many creatives would relate, this art will forever be personal to me and an intuitive way for me to connect with others.

What inspires you?

Human interactions! How people move through the world, love with quiet tenderness or with hearts on their sleeves. How they belly laugh into each other and hold one another at  the end of the night.

How would you describe your working style?

I thrive in the in-between moments and move through spaces with a quiet presence, allowing room for genuine moments to unfold. When guidance is needed, I will happily step in to help find the most beautiful available light and provide direction in a way that feels relevant to the moment.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

I shoot a hybrid of film (35mm and 120mm) and digital. Film is a huge part of my workflow and often influences the way I edit my digitals, as to curate a more cohesive gallery.

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

Yes, all of my wedding packages can be altered and customized to best suit your needs - for example, I can add engagement sessions, rehearsal dinner coverage etc. as required. I’m always happy to work with my clients to build a custom proposal that best aligns with their wedding day vision.

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Delivering a preview gallery (some highlights of film and digital images) within a couple weeks of the wedding day and allowing my couples to relive their wedding day in a tangible way for the very first time will always be my favorite!

Where would you love to travel to for work?

I find so much inspiration from areas of the world that are new to me, so anywhere and everywhere! I’m excited to cross off Mexico City, Florence, Lucca, and Alaska from my list  this year.

Who is your dream client?

Creatives, in any aspect of life. The kind of people who move through life with intention but also lightheartedly at times. Lovers that are endlessly inspired by one another and the love they share. Thoughtful, warm-hearted, and a little offbeat in the best way. Those who value connection, the film medium and photography as an art form, and ultimately, excited to co create something meaningful.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Don’t be afraid to do things differently and look for inspiration within yourself and the things and people you love. Abandon traditions that don’t serve you and allow your  wedding day to be an authentic representation of your relationship and love!
