Hi, I’m Scarlett Arthur, the gal behind Happily Ever Arthur. I am an authorised Marriage Celebrant, Event Planner, Event Coordinator, Stylist and MC. Happily Ever Arthur was created to bring personalised ceremonies to couples who are after a genuine, fun and relaxed wedding to bring their celebrations to life. We have a team of professionals to execute your day with ease and enjoyment, allowing you and your love to enjoy the best day of your life in a stress free, exciting and heartfelt environment.

What would you like couples to know about Happily Ever Arthur?

We are professional storytellers who love nothing more than making our couples wedding days everything they have dreamed of and more. We create genuine, heartfelt ceremonies that reflect our couples love stories. Our most common feedback is that we create a space that is inclusive, enjoyable and feels like we have known our couples for years.

Our process involves providing couples with questionnaires for each party to complete, we then structure your ceremony off your answers. We also include vow assistance, recommend readings, playlists and ceremony structure to ensure your ceremony feels like you.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! We travel Australia wide however are based out of Sydney, NSW.

How would you describe your working style?

Upbeat, fun, relaxed and easy. Our aim is to take the stressful part of your planning process away and allow you to enjoy the planning almost as much as your big day.

What is your most memorable career moment?

Officiating Adam & James’ wedding at the Opera House in August 2023. The celebrations were filled with so much love and so many special nods to their relationship. They giggled and cried the entire way through their ceremony, surrounded by their friends and family as the sun set behind us. Every single moment of their wedding was unique perfection.

Another special moment was Event Coordinating for Lena and Jacks wedding in Katoomba last year. They celebrated their day at their family property. It was a whimsical, magical garden party that captured their love story beyond words. Later in the evening they had a surprise performance from their groomsmen and friends, Lime Coridale. Every moment of their wedding day was executed to perfection.

I have also had the privilege of officiating best friends and family members wedding days. Let me tell you, there’s no better feeling in the world than standing up there with the people you love, watching with such pride as they take the next step in their relationship.

What inspires you?

Unique love stories. Nothing makes me happier than gaining an insight into couple's journeys – how they have come to be in this place and what has brought them to this moment in their lives. Creating a genuine ceremony that reflects the individuals, and the couple inspires me every day to do what I do.

What motivates you to do what you do?

Seeing couples faces light up as I tell their story is by far the best feeling in the world. Most couples opt to have their ceremony as a surprise, so they hear it for the first time on the day. This often allows them to be more present and in the moment for their ceremony if nerves are high. When they hear the beautiful things that have written about one another, the stories they have shared and the vows make to one another is like being caught in an untouchable love bubble for a brief moment in time.

What is a favourite service that you offer and why?

Celebrant Services and Event Coordination.

Celebrant Services:

I love officiating because I am allowed an insight into couple's lives. It’s so fun reading about the ins and outs of a relationship through their questionnaire answers. The things they love about one another, find annoying about each other, the funny stories they have shared. I then weave their story into their ceremony script creating an inclusive and fun ceremony for all to enjoy.

Event Coordination:

I am a big fan of a checklist and thrive off a thorough run sheet. I love pulling all of the pieces together to execute a seamless experience for you and your guests to enjoy while managing all vendors on your wedding day. Organisation is my strong suit and event coordination requires a keen eye for detail. I love when all the planning comes together, and my couples can relax and enjoy their wedding day for what it is.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

Go into your wedding day with the energy you wish to create! Try not to compare your day to anyone else's, lean into your uniqueness and your love story. Enjoy your day, take little moments to sit and enjoy just the two of you.
