Husband and wife duo Good Day Dwyer collaborate harmoniously and offer film and photography services to their couples. The team aims to get to know each couple individually and uses their story and interests to create their photos and films. With a relaxed approach on the day, the duo have a documentary style with a focus on people and emotions. Good Day Dwyer capture weddings Australia-wide.

Tell us about your business!

Good Day Dwyer is a husband and wife team based in Australia. Our one goal is to facilitate moments of pure elation, whilst stealing slices of time for you to remember forever. 

What would you like couples to know about you?

We take a relaxed approach to a wedding day, with the couples happiness and enjoyment being our first priority. We are easy going and love to push the boundaries in creating something unique. 

Where are you based?

We are based in Australia.

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely, both nationally and internationally.

How would you describe your style?

Editorial and documentary, with a focus on people and emotions.

What is your most memorable career moment?

It would have to be a time in Aeteora New Zealand, capturing a beautiful wedding with one of my best friends, stories of horrific downpours, theft and mistaken identity would almost sum it up. And then visiting that same lovely couple years later to meet their growing family, would have to be a highlight.

What inspires you?

Creatively, Roger Deakins and Robert Richardson.

We draw inspiration from a number of places, books, music, cinema, Magnum Photographers and other photographers outside of the wedding industry. But what inspires our souls are people, we have a deep empathy for people's families, their stories and how important that is too them.

How would you describe your working style?

Relaxed, we find that if couples are relaxed with us, that’s when they are most likely to look their best in front of a camera or two. It also makes people feel like we are creating something together instead of having a visual parasite order them around all day.

Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?

We shoot both digital and film, all our personal work is shot on film and it's something we love to use! 

Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?

We have several packages which cover off most couples needs, however are always open to doing custom packages. 

What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?

Film photography and Super8. Film is where Matt started and where his passion resides.

Where would you love to travel to for work?

Anywhere in Europe!

Who is your dream client?

Anyone who has a dog or any animal for that matter.

How do you select music for your films?

We use several sources of online license platforms for our music. We like to get to know our couples taste in music via our online questionnaires and go from there. Most of the decisions come after the day and must fit with the vibe.

Matt has a background in music and audio engineering which helps in sourcing music and mixes.

What is your advice to couples getting married?

There are only a couple of things you are really obligated to do on your wedding day, so for everything else, do what you want. Think about what you love and prioritise it.
