Tell us about your business!
My name is Kayla and I’ve been photographing weddings for three years. I shoot throughout Sydney and the Hunter Valley, as well as travelling all over Australia and Europe.
Where are you based?
Newcastle, NSW.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! I travel everywhere, but particularly to Europe for the June - August season.
How would you describe your style?
Romantic, fashion inspired with a vintage feel.
What motivates you to do what you do?
Family. I want to give couples beautiful photos that they will be proud to show their grandchildren. I don’t want my couples to have standard, everyday wedding photos. I want their grandchildren to think: “How cool were my grandparents." I want my clients to have beautiful, candid photographs with their family that they cherish forever.
How would you describe your working style?
Very relaxed, I don’t stage or set up scenes. I give subtle direction to encourage natural movement and
moments. My favourite part of the day to photograph is my couples during cocktail hour, mingling and
enjoying the day they’ve planned. I don’t take them away for long portrait sessions and would rather capture them with their friends and family.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
Primarily digital however, I do have the option to add on film to my packages.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
I have custom packages but am very flexible in tailoring options to suit what my couple needs.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
New York.
Who is your dream client?
I’ve worked with a tonne of my dream clients already. They are always kind, easy going people with a love of fashion, florals and beautiful styling. They want their wedding to be as equally beautiful as it is fun - and love to party!
