Tell us about your business!
I’m Nadia. A big sucker for love and 35mm film. Combining the two feels like finding your soulmate to me.
I love capturing weddings that are full of personality. On film.
Because with film, every frame matters. It slows things down, and gives more space to feel, notice, and capture a story with honesty. And I think every love story deserves nothing less.
What would you like couples to know about you?
I grew up partly in The Netherlands and partly in the German mountains. I’m a Libra, happiest somewhere in nature, or spending an evening knitting or sewing. I’ve never captured a wedding without crying at some point during the day.
Where are you based?
I’m based in The Netherlands, but you’ll also find me in Bavaria, Germany quite often. It’s my second home.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes! With the planet in mind, I only take on a few weddings abroad each year. But I absolutely love travelling for the right ones.
How would you describe your style?
I want my photos to feel like an old photobook you open one morning, sitting at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee and the sun shining through.
My style is colourful, beautifully human, a little quirky, and with a touch of style.
What is your most memorable career moment?
When I was in Greece, looking out over the ocean, capturing my very first wedding abroad. The wedding weekend of two people who felt like friends from the moment we first met. Doing so with my work bestie, Julia from Sala Sol Studio.
A Mamma Mia dream coming true and a proper pinch-me moment.
What inspires you?
On every roll of film I shoot, there’s at least one picture of a flower. I am fascinated by all the different colours, textures, and the happiness they can bring people.
To me, they’re a little reminder that nothing stays the same forever. They bloom, they fade, and somehow they find their way back again. Sometimes somewhere new and unexpected. I love that.
How would you describe your working style?
For me, it’s really important that we feel a genuine connection, because it helps me capture you and your day in the most fun and honest way possible. I take the time to get to know you. A cosy coffee date and texting back and forth. I communicate with my couples as I would with friends. I’m genuinely excited to help bring your ideas to life and make your photo dreams come true.
I want you to be able to be fully present, have so much fun, get a little messy, and enjoy your wedding to the fullest. And I would love to be there to freeze all those beautiful memories for you.
Do you shoot digitally, on film or both?
Mostly film! And I love that more and more couples are choosing film and trusting me to capture their wedding day mostly, or entirely, on film. I am all for it!
Whenever I’m shooting a wedding as the only photographer, I sometimes add a few digital portraits when they make sense.
And my latest obsession: Super 8 wedding films. Something I added recently to my offering alongside camcorder wedding videos.
Do you have custom packages according to individual needs?
Every wedding is unique, and I want every couple to feel completely free to be themselves. My packages all have a starting point, but I’m always happy to customise them around a couple’s plans, needs and the way they want to spend their day.
What is a favourite product or service that you offer and why?
Film photography will always have my heart! I love that you have to slow down. And then there’s that feeling when your film scans come back. It’s like opening the biggest Christmas present every single time.
But then there’s Super 8, which is getting very close to stealing my heart. It’s analogue magic in motion. And the camera itself is half the fun. Guests, especially those who recognise it from back in the days, are always completely fascinated by it.
Where would you love to travel to for work?
The mountains are at the top of my list. I would love to capture a wedding in Austria. I think a wedding surrounded by nature is meant to be captured on film.
Who is your dream client?
Little daredevils who are bold enough to let their wedding be captured on film.
What is your advice to couples getting married?
Be authentic. Be loud. Be sentimental. Be little daredevils. Be you.
You and your guests will have the best time when everything comes from the heart. And the combination of your two hearts is completely one of a kind. Own it!
