Tell us a little about yourselves!

We’re originally from London and both work in the fashion industry. When we first began planning our wedding, we were living in Switzerland working for Vans, and somewhere along the journey we found ourselves relocating to Los Angeles to continue that chapter together.

We’ve been together for over a decade, ever since meeting on a blind date that changed everything. What started as a simple introduction quickly grew into something lasting, and we’ve been side by side ever since, building a life shaped by our shared love of music (especially 00s rock and metal), food, travel, animals and culture.

At home, our little family wouldn’t be complete without our cat, Morrissey, who truly is the cherry on top.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We were living in Switzerland while planning our wedding on the Italian border when we came across Baja Luna on Pinterest and instantly fell in love with its architecture. When we realised it was in Mexico, a country we both love, it felt even more meant to be. We spent quite a bit of time searching for venues in Italy with a similar allure, but nothing quite compared. Eventually, we thought, “Why not just go to Mexico and see it for ourselves?” The moment we saw it in person, it felt like fate and we knew we had to book it.

How many guests did you have?

30.

What was your budget?

Our initial budget was to spend around $65k, but we ended up closer to $75k.

Tell us about your outfits.

For the day, we wanted our outfits to feel like an extension of who we are, while embracing a sense of romance and classic black-tie elegance. I wore a suit by Our Legacy, a brand I’ve worn and loved for years, so it felt natural to choose something that already felt like me, just elevated for the occasion.

Yasemin’s dress was by Cinq Bridal, which felt especially fitting as an LA-based label since we had just moved from Switzerland. After trying on many, she instantly knew this was the one – it had a softness and lightness that felt effortless, especially in motion. As the evening light hit, the fabric moved beautifully, giving it a sense of ease and romance that contrasted perfectly with the more structured, black-tie feel. She paired it with shoes by Madomorpho, which she had her heart set on and was determined to track down, and for the evening, she wore a pair rented from Jesse Vintage, adding a unique, vintage touch.

As the day turned into night, we both changed into something that felt a little more playful and expressive for the party. I wore a printed Our Legacy shirt, which brought a more relaxed, personal energy while still feeling considered. Yasemin changed into a dress by Elywood, which felt shorter, freer, and perfect for dancing – the kind of piece that marked the shift from ceremony to celebration.

We loved that contrast across the day, from tailored and timeless to something more undone and joyful. It felt like two sides of the same story.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

As we were planning a wedding abroad, we knew our guests would be traveling a long way, so we wanted to create something that reflected everything we envisioned while also showing our friends and family what a special place Mexico can be. We planned experiences beyond the wedding itself, including a yacht day with food and drinks where we were lucky enough to see wildlife, whales and dolphins joining us along the way. We also hosted a brunch at Acre, offering a relaxed yet refined setting to showcase the incredible cuisine.

We wanted the wedding to feel deeply romantic and special, but not like a typical Cabo celebration. We had our own vision, rich burgundy tones, layered textures, and a style that felt elevated yet personal. Ultimately, we wanted something that felt uniquely ours, a meaningful way to celebrate the beginning of our life together.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

There were a few elements we knew we absolutely wanted to include. One of them was a string quartet for the ceremony, playing songs that are meaningful to us, reimagined through romantic, classical arrangements. It struck the perfect balance between timeless elegance and a personal touch. Having Yasemin’s brother act as our celebrant made the ceremony all the more meaningful – there was an intimacy and emotion to it that felt deeply personal and grounding.

Personal details were incredibly important to us throughout. We even themed the bar as if our late grandmothers had opened a late-night, members-only club – “Marlene & Pam’s” – complete with a vintage-style menu and house rules for guests to follow. In the party space, we created a quiet moment of reflection by projecting footage from our families’ weddings, alongside photographs of our grandparents that had been gently brought to life through subtle animation. It felt like a way of having them there with us, their presence woven into the celebration even if they could no longer be physically present.

We are big on speeches, and they were a central part of the day for us. They more than lived up to what we had hoped for, filled with beautiful words, heartfelt reflections, and moments of humor that brought everyone together. Having one of the bridesmaids, Pauliina, as MC for the reception was also incredibly special. She moved seamlessly between lightness and emotion, balancing humor, thoughtful details, and meaningful moments with such ease.

For our late-night snacks, we found a way to include our cat, who couldn’t be there but was very much present in spirit. He appeared across custom fast-food packaging and was featured throughout, from our invitations to the matchboxes at the bar.

We also handwrote all of the place cards and included a personal letter for each guest, sharing how much they mean to us and how grateful we are to have them celebrate this day by our side.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Wedding planning can feel long and, at times, overwhelming, but try to stay grounded in what truly matters to you both. Make the choices that reflect who you are as a couple, not just what’s expected. This is a moment you’ll only experience once, so allow yourselves to go all in and create something that feels meaningful and true to you.

The day itself will pass faster than you can imagine, so build something you’ll be proud to look back on – something that makes you smile and think, we really did that, together.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Honestly, all of our vendors, including our photographers MCW Photocinema were incredible. Everything came together so seamlessly that we were able to fully relax and enjoy the day without a single worry. It felt like every detail was handled with so much care, and the whole event unfolded effortlessly, which is all you can really hope for.

A special mention has to go to our wedding planner, Ale, who truly went above and beyond in the most unexpected ways. At one point, we casually mentioned the idea of having a caricature artist at the wedding, not even knowing where to begin looking. As it turned out, Ale happened to be walking along the harbour one day, spotted an artist working on the street, and quite literally tracked him down to see if he’d be available for our wedding.

It was one of those moments that perfectly summed up her approach, thoughtful, intuitive, and completely dedicated to bringing even the smallest ideas to life. And it ended up being such a fun and memorable part of the day.
