Wedding | Miranda & Jamie
Tell us a little about yourselves!
Our names are Miranda and Jamie and we live in Brooklyn, New York with our 1 year old son, Jack, and two cats. We met for drinks in March of 2018 after matching on a dating app, and we’ve been inseparable since.
Jamie proposed to Miranda at Central Park in November 2024, unbeknownst to them that Miranda was already pregnant with their son, Jack, born in May 2025. Miranda is a Senior Recruitment Manager for a NYC based jewelry brand, and she is also a freelance floral designer. Jamie is the Director of Partnerships for BKFC, a new professional soccer team based in Brooklyn.
In our free time we love exploring the city or hanging out at Carroll Park with Jack, or catching up with friends over good food.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Portugal holds a really special place in our hearts. It was our very first trip to Europe and from the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the country’s effortlessly romantic charm.
We fell in love not just with the stunning scenery, but with the culture — the kindness of the people, the rich traditions, the delicious food and wine, and the slower, more intentional pace of life. It became more than just a destination — it was a feeling.
We’ve always dreamed of sharing this place with the people we love most.
How many guests did you have?
It was an intimate ceremony of 35 guests.
Tell us about your outfits.
I had a lot of fun curating my looks for the weekend, but at the beginning of planning I didn’t really know what direction I wanted to go in so I just started trying things on. I brought my mom and mother-in-law dress shopping with me in Manhattan over the course of two days. When we went to my first appointment at Danielle Frankel, I tried on tons of different styles and silhouettes but ultimately ended up pairing a handmade corset top with a vintage-style handmade skirt, topped with a short veil and heels also from DF. The associate at Danielle Frankel mentioned that they had never seen the top and skirt I selected paired together, which made the decision feel extra exciting and very true to me.
I felt inspired to incorporate my love for vintage in my welcome party look, so when I came across this stunning pair of vintage heels by Tom Ford Gucci on Etsy with bamboo detailing, I immediately purchased them and built the rest of my look around the heels.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We were keen for it to feel like a vacation for our family and friends. We wanted it to feel relaxed and authentic to us and the location, so from the décor to the festivities it all was very thoughtfully and naturally curated.
I wanted the day to feel like a space I’d want to live in. I wanted the day to be classic yet modern, and sculptural yet feminine.
It was also important to us to keep the guest list small so we could be present with each other, and the people who we love the most and who have helped us become who we are today.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted the ceremony to be super simple, but memorable. One of Jamie’s older sisters officiated the wedding, which made us feel very comfortable. Jamie and I were oddly relaxed once we were both up there. It felt like time stopped, and I had never felt more connected to Jamie.
We knew that we wanted to have our baby boy (Jack) be part of the ceremony, so we had him and his godfather bring up the rings. Jack is our entire world, so this was easily one of the sweetest and most special moments of the day. It’s beautiful to reflect on him being a part of the ceremony in such a way — it’s a core memory we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
It was important to us to hire all local vendors as they know the land and Portuguese culture best. Denise with Romance Weddings was our amazing planner and she made the entire planning process and day of logistics run smoothly.
Being a florist, I knew the flowers would be a key element of the day, but I wanted to make sure they didn’t take away from the natural landscape of Casas da Quinta de Cima. Hattie Fox Studio was our florist, and we worked closely on concepting and flower sourcing. We landed on a vibe that felt authentic and overgrown, but with unexpected elements. We had a lot of fun with leaning into seasonality, and with incorporating unique textures and vintage vessels.
For food and drink, we wanted our guests to experience authentic Portuguese cuisine and wine. Chef Ricardo of Tasty Algarve specializes in intimate dinner experiences, which aligned nicely with the size of our guestlist. Chef Ricardo worked with us to create a super intentional menu celebrating the unique coastal flavors and culinary traditions of Portugal and the Algarve. We even had Dom Rodrigo as part of our dessert spread, an authentic egg-based pastry from the Algarve. We may be biased, but it was easily the best wedding meal we’ve ever had.
Looking back, the weekend feels like a dream! We were overjoyed having everyone we love in one place. Our lives together are just beginning, and this weekend was the perfect way to kick off this next chapter.
All of our vendors went above and beyond to make our day special and run smoothly, and for that we are forever grateful!
Any tips for couples getting married?
Enjoy the process, and create the day that you and your partner want! Don’t follow any trends or make decisions that do not feel authentic to you and your partner.
We also highly recommend hiring a planner so you can fully enjoy the day and not have to worry about timing or logistics. The weekend goes by incredibly fast and you’ll want to be as present as possible. Don’t forget to thank your family, friends, and vendors for all of their support!

Our photographer, Maria from Atelier Memoria, couldn’t have done a better job capturing the entire weekend. Maria’s photography style is refined yet authentic — she shines in making her couples feel celebrated and comfortable in front of the camera.
