Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met in 2012 during our university days, two quiet souls who found comfort in each other’s calm. Over the past thirteen years, our love has grown in quiet strength, shaped by introspection and a shared creative spirit. As two introverts with vivid inner worlds, we’ve always dreamed of a wedding that feels more like a reflection than a performance, something artful, intimate, and unmistakably us.

How many guests did you have?

We had 63 guests.

What was your budget?

Our budget was set between $60,000–$65,000, and the wedding itself stayed comfortably within that range. This doesn’t include accommodation costs for our families and bridal party, which we covered separately to make their stay more enjoyable.

Tell us about your outfits.

My wedding dress journey took a few unexpected turns. Initially, I planned to have it custom made, but the final result didn’t fully capture my vision. So we moved to Plan B, a gown rented from Wink Atelier  overseas. The silhouette and intricate details spoke to my personality in every way

We repurposed the custom pieces into two distinct looks. The beautifully crafted corset became part of my getting-ready outfit, paired with tailored white pants and a white blazer for a sharp, modern edge. The tulle skirt was saved for our first dance, styled with a Saint Laurent lace tank top to create an effortless yet romantic vibe.

For the after-party, I fell in love with a mini dress from Helsa Studio on Revolve, it was love at first sight. Paired with patterned white stockings, it made for a playful, fashion-forward statement.

Andy kept it timeless with a beige look, his classic suit silhouette paired beautifully with a brown tie and bowtie, complementing the refined and elegant tone of the day. We also gave special thought to the buttonhole design: a classic deep red rose for the church ceremony to match our dress code, and a playful switch to poker cards and chips for the reception, as a nod to the role card games have played in our relationship.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

The most important aspect for us was making sure everything reflected who we are, our relationship, our story, and the things we genuinely love. We wanted the day to feel personal and meaningful, not just for us but for our guests too. Creating an atmosphere where everyone could truly enjoy themselves and feel part of our celebration was at the heart of every decision we made.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Both Andy and I always been drawn to the idea of “tying the knot,” so we incorporated subtle knot elements throughout. Having been together for 13 years and sharing a love for galleries, we also curated a mini exhibition of our relationship milestones, expressed through food and floral styling. And to visualise our hopes for marriage, Andy and I wrote meaningful words on the fabric used to tie my bouquet, expertly crafted by Blacc Flower, making it one of the most heartfelt elements of the day.

One element I was set on from the very beginning was using minimal flowers. I wanted our décor to go beyond one-time beauty, something lasting, with pieces we could keep and cherish long after the day. Personalisation was also at the heart of everything we planned. From meaningful wedding favours to symbolic details, we wanted every element to reflect our story.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Things will come up, especially as the big day gets closer, but try to stay calm and grounded. Trust your vision and remember that this celebration is about the two of you. As long as you stay true to what matters most to you both, everything else will fall into place.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We’re incredibly grateful to our dream team of vendors who brought our vision to life. First and foremost, we can’t thank our photographer Emotions & Math enough. Isla was with us throughout the entire planning process. A truly talented soul with an extraordinary creative eye, she helped me find inspiration when I felt stuck and crafted a mood board that felt deeply personal. It was Isla who introduced us to the wonderful It's Eggy, whose food styling added such a whimsical and one-of-a-kind touch to the day, think baguette as a getting-ready bag and butter biscuits as guest name cards!

We were absolutely in awe of the work Blacc Flower created for us. From the start, they fully embraced my vision of using minimal florals and instead leaned into draping as a key decorative element—something that felt more lasting and personal to us. Not only did they understand this approach, they elevated it with incredible creativity and precision. Their execution was flawless, and they continuously offered fresh ideas to enhance the space in a way that felt true to our aesthetic. They struck the perfect balance between elegance and intention, and truly went above and beyond to bring our vision to life.

Our hair and makeup artist, Yaya Makeup was an absolute gem throughout the entire process. When I had a last-minute change to my main gown, she immediately jumped in with ideas to adjust the hair and makeup to suit the new look—ensuring everything remained cohesive and true to the overall aesthetic. She’s not only incredibly talented, but also endlessly supportive and adaptable. From start to finish, she helped refine each look with care and creativity, making sure every moment felt like “me.” Her calm presence and thoughtful approach made such a difference on the day.

Although Andy and I took on most of the planning and styling ourselves, we couldn’t have done it without the support of Callin, our venue planner and on-the-day coordinator from The Goodsmith, and Steph, their in-house graphic designer. From seamless coordination to the most “us” stationery designs, they helped make the day feel effortless and truly personal.
