Tell us a little about yourselves!
We have been together for ten years. Miranda is from London and Jon is from Glasgow. We have lived together in Hackney for the last five years.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Miranda thinks London is the best city on earth. It was always a given that the wedding would be in London.Â
We are very lucky in that most of our friends live close by. We wanted a laid-back wedding that people could enjoy without having to take time off work or travel abroad. Miranda got ready at her parents’ house and we went home together (a 15-minute cab ride) at the end of the night.
How many guests did you have?
110.
Tell us about your outfits.
I found Lucy from Racket London on Instagram. I think that she had only set up her business a couple of weeks before. She lives about ten minutes away from me in Hackney. I sent her a message and we just went from there. She is incredibly talented and I couldn’t believe how well the dress turned out.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We both have very busy jobs and the planning was pretty disorganised. We’re lucky that we had good weather, because we had forgotten to get a marquee or plan a back-up for the outdoor ceremony!
The most important things were good friends, good food and good music. Everything else just fell together.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Our photographer, Jessica Gwyneth was great. I really wanted a photographer who wouldn’t get in the way of everyone organically enjoying themselves. She managed to capture the day perfectly without anyone knowing that she was there. She also does a mix of film and digital, which I love.
