Tell us a little about yourselves!

Our story began in June 2020, when we met on Hinge during the early days of the pandemic. Dating during such an unusual time gave us the chance to slow down and truly focus on getting to know each other—something that might not have happened in a different world. We quickly bonded over our shared love of travel, visiting eight national parks together in our first two years.

Three years later, Pete proposed in one of our favorite places: Red Hook, Brooklyn. With the Statue of Liberty and city skyline as our backdrop, Pete got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Pete and I are passionate about travel and food, and whenever we have the chance to combine the two, we do. From the start, we knew we wanted a destination wedding—and Italy, with its rich culture, incredible cuisine, and timeless art, felt like the perfect choice. Plus, with my Italian heritage, it felt all the more meaningful.

How many guests did you have?

110.

What was your budget?

We aimed to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests, staying mindful of our spending without adhering to a strict budget.

Tell us about your outfits.

The search for my wedding dress took me to nearly every atelier in New York—but deep down, I always knew it would be Monique Lhuillier. The moment I slipped into the Soleil gown, I felt it: this was the one. It captured everything I envisioned—timeless elegance, refined style, individualism and a true reflection of who I am.

For accessories, I chose a Monique Lhuillier veil, cream platform heels, pearl drop earrings, a delicate pearl necklace, and a matching bracelet. I also wore vintage family rings and a classic Rolex watch—a wedding gift from Pete—that added a personal and sentimental touch.

Of course, I couldn’t resist a wardrobe change for the after-party. I slipped into a white and silver sequin mini dress by Clio Peppiatt—equal parts playful and glamorous—paired with sparkling, dance-ready Larroudé heels.

Pete looked effortlessly polished in a cream silk-blend suit from Suit Supply, finished with rich chocolate brown loafers.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We knew it meant a great deal for our guests to travel internationally to be with us, and having 110 of our closest loved ones by our side made it even more special. Being surrounded by the people we cherish most truly meant everything.

We dreamed of a celebration that felt effortless, joyful, and authentic—a pure reflection of love in all its forms. With incredible food, endless Italian wine, music, perfectly crafted cocktails, and a relaxed setting where everyone could be themselves, we wanted it to feel natural and unhurried. It was never about formality, but about real connection, meaningful moments, and unforgettable memories shared with those who matter most.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

From the very beginning of our wedding planning, we knew it was all about the vibe. Above everything, we wanted to ensure our guests were having the best time, and we believed that could only be achieved with great food, drinks, and music. One of the things that was especially important to us was giving everyone a taste of what was to come—literally. We kicked things off with delicious pizza at our welcome dinner, and that theme continued with fresh mozzarella made right before our guests' eyes during the aperitivo hour.

Our favorite moment, without a doubt, was The Italian Roamers band we hired. They brought so much energy and joy, performing throughout the aperitivo hour and even coming back for an encore during dinner. It was the perfect touch to make the evening unforgettable.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Take it all in, because it really does fly by. When you're in the thick of it, it’s easy to just want the wedding to be here already, but the journey leading up to it is just as special. Embrace the adventure. No matter how much planning you do, things may not always go exactly as you envisioned—but in the end, it all works out and becomes wonderfully memorable. Trust that everything will fall into place, and you'll be left with a celebration that’s even better than you imagined.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Wiskow and White were a dream to work with throughout the planning process. Every vendor they curated for us was exceptional, and their impeccable taste, professionalism, and eye for detail gave us complete confidence. We trusted them fully with the creative direction and design, and the result far exceeded anything we could have imagined.

Our photographer, Paulina of Paulina Weddings, was equally incredible. From the start, she made us feel completely at ease, capturing us in the most natural, effortless way. Her images radiate the joy and emotion of the entire weekend—each photo tells a piece of our story with warmth and authenticity.

Our stationery, designed by Ben at White Vines Studio, was a true labor of love. From the save the dates and invitations to welcome notes, weekend itineraries, and hand-drawn menu and place cards, every element was thoughtfully designed and deeply personal. His artistry added a beautiful, cohesive layer to the entire experience.

Monaciano, our venue, went above and beyond in every way. The grounds were nothing short of breathtaking, and their team handled every detail with such care and attentiveness—not only to us, but to each of our guests. It was the perfect setting for the celebration we had envisioned.

My look came together with the help of two wonderful partners: Cesca brought a calm and confident energy to the morning while creating beautiful, timeless hair and makeup for me during the welcome party and wedding day. She made me feel like the best version of myself. And Little White Looks styled each of my bridal outfits to perfection—helping refine every detail and ensure everything felt cohesive, personal, and completely me.

Our floral designer, Roberta of The Good Florist, was nothing short of extraordinary. She and her team transformed every part of the day with their creative vision—from my bouquet to the ceremony space, aperitivo hour, dinner, and the afterparty. Every corner felt artfully considered, and guests were immersed in a stunning floral experience from start to finish.

One of the most unforgettable highlights of the evening was The Italian Roamers band. They were fun, engaging, and brought a joyful spontaneity that truly left a lasting impression on everyone. For the afterparty, we partnered with Genre Music, who delivered an incredible mix of DJ sets and a live saxophonist. The energy was electric, and the dance floor didn’t slow down all night—it was the perfect ending to a perfect celebration.

We couldn’t have asked for better food partners for our wedding weekend. Brindapino brought the perfect energy to our Friday night welcome party with their amazing wood-fired pizzas and expertly crafted cocktails—our guests are still talking about it! On the wedding day, Italian Taste created the most incredible aperitivo and dinner experience—elegant, flavorful, and truly unforgettable. And to wrap it all up, Belvedere Restaurant hosted a beautiful Sunday brunch that was warm, delicious, and the perfect way to close out the weekend. Each of these teams went above and beyond, and we’re so thankful for the role they played in making our celebration so special.
