Tell us a little about yourselves!
I work in the fashion industry, and am a creative mind with a lot of passion for art and Chinese roots. Hence, as WP we had a creative counterpart, and it was so much fun designing this wedding.
We met our junior year at Princeton at a formal event, out on the terrace patio of Brian’s Eating Club. 2025 marks ten years together, and the beginning of our marriage! Liani is a consultant in the retail and fashion industry, and Brian is a healthcare investor. We both live in Brooklyn, NY with our dog, a miniature long-haired English Cream Dachshund named Otter.
I grew up internationally: I was born in China and attended school in Japan, Sweden and the US. We wanted our wedding to look like a blend of our cultures: Brian’s Jewish heritage and religion, and my Chinese heritage and Christianity. We love to decorate and collect art, thus we wanted our wedding to look artfully done with elegance and a hint of 'Suess-ian' playfulness.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We love Europe; hence we are specialised destination wedding planners, helping couples to find the perfect destination country and location to get married. After showing different venues in France, Italy and Spain – Mallorca was the perfect fit. Also, we had their most intimate vacation in Mallorca which brought our relationship to the next level.
Yes, we both grew up traveling a lot. Liani’s extended family doesn’t live in the US, and we wanted the wedding to be an excuse for our guests to plan a vacation with their partners. Mallorca is special to us because of a wonderful holiday we planned seven years ago. It was on that trip that we felt truly that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. The beautiful natural landscape and historic architecture, mixed with some of our favorite foods (Mediterranean, sea food, olives, and tapas) made Mallorca the perfect destination.

Tell us about your outfits.
I (Liani) did not want to wear the most traditional bridal outfits. We wanted every part of our wedding to have a more customized touch. One of my best friends wore Danielle Frankel to her wedding in Rome, so it naturally was my first stop to look for gowns. I love the process of styling together an outfit: thinking about what silhouette I want and how to best pair pieces of a “look” together until it feels uniquely “me.” Rachel at Danielle Frankel helped me to find my perfect dress.
We chose a gorgeous silhouette with intricate pleating details that brought so much dimension to the gown. We also paired it with a long sleeve tulle piece that could be taken off, but I kept it on all night. I loved how the two pieces – the dress and the long sleeves – paired together.
Chinese cherry blossoms were all over our inspiration for the wedding, because I wanted Chinese elements to be littered throughout our wedding. They also coincidentally match the pink colors of Mallorcan almond flowers! Rachel worked with me to add light painted pink elements to the veil, a nod to our Chinese cherry blossoms. She also found me hand crafted Danielle Frankel floral earrings that matched the veil’s painting.
The look was perfect. I felt so beautiful – and so comfortable!
My Friday night look is from a brand I’ve loved for a long time, Bernadette. I love an oversized, loose, flowy look for any occasion. This dress’ silhouette felt like it was made for me – it fit exactly into my style. I wanted to continue the floral touches across all of my outfits so I paired it with Calla Lily flower earrings and a trompe l'oeil Calla Lily flower vase purse. A bit Surrealist; a bit Suess-ian!
My after party look was a set I found on Moda Operandi! I love how playful and sexy it was without being a short “traditional” after party dress.
Prada shoes throughout the whole weekend! They make the best heels.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We wanted the wedding to feel extremely intimate. Our guest count was small and we wanted to be able to spend quality time with every single guest invited.
Our wedding also needed to feel customized to us – the personalized details from our stationary, to my hand-painted veil, to our vows, and the florals needed to all feel like they could only be for us.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Due to Lianis heritage some Chinese details like Chinese lanterns during cocktail hour, details for the stationary with the Chinese “luck” sign, as well as hand painted cherry blossoms on Liani’s veil were the details she desired. Brian has Jewish roots, hence the chuppah and glass breaking ceremony was a very special part of the wedding.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Plan it together! I loved that Brian and I made every decision together. It brought us closer together and made us feel even more excited about the day – to see together what we’ve come up with.
And pick vendors you trust! A huge reason we felt so calm during the wedding planning process was because we, and our families, entirely trusted our vendors to execute our vision – starting with Sonja and our wedding planning team. I wanted our vendors to be the experts with our vision as a guiding source.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
All of our vendors were incredible! From Sonja and our wedding planning team to our caterers to the florist to our photographer Dias De Vino y Rosas to Sinem making me feel the most beautiful I’ve ever felt! I’m just so grateful to every single vendor for executing such a beautiful weekend for us.
I’m really proud of my sister, the stationary designer behind Three Strands Stationery. She created the most beautiful pieces for us that were customized to our story and our event. She really elevated everything for us.
