Tell us a little about yourselves!
Nick and I met on Hinge in NYC back in 2021, and what started as a long-distance relationship quickly became something serious. He’s a Cali boy from the bay area and I am from the Hudson Valley in upstate New York.
We share a love for travel, design, old films, and film photography, and so much of our relationship has been shaped by discovering new places and drawing inspiration from them. Whether it’s a trip abroad or a quiet weekend upstate, we’re always seeking experiences that feel thoughtful and transportive.
Travel, especially, has become central to who we are together. Over the past five years, we’ve explored more than 15 countries, and it’s where we feel most like ourselves. Those experiences have influenced everything—from how we host to how we think about design—and ultimately what shaped the way we approached our wedding.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Nick: We love CDMX, and it was the perfect halfway point for our families. We could have never dreamed of finding a more beautiful location other than Parque Q! Demery works in Architecture/ interior design and it was quite a dream to be married within the work of Javier Senosiain. Surrounded by his organic, otherworldly architecture, it felt completely surreal.
Demery: CDMX is endlessly vibrant!! Defined by its incredible food, magnetic energy, and a sense of beauty that lives in both its people and its architecture. We are already planning on our vow renewal to get everyone back to the city, maybe it will have to be a little less than 5 years away.
How many guests did you have?
150 guests.
What was your budget?
200K.
Tell us about your outfits.
Demery chose the first dress she tried on from Sept by Sarah Seven.
Nick had a teal suit from bode with custom embroidery throughout.
We had the groomsman and Demery’s brothers wear her mom’s brooches, her mother sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2024.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
Demery: For me, the most important aspect of planning our wedding was creating an experience that felt thoughtful, a little whimsical, and truly immersive for everyone attending. Not just a beautiful event, but a full weekend that reflected us.
Because so many of our guests were traveling—and many of our families and friends were meeting for the first time—it was really important that the environment felt relaxed and welcoming. We wanted to create a setting where people could genuinely connect, spend time together, and get to know one another naturally. Mezcal definitely helped!
Every decision came back to that feeling: making it warm, personal, and slightly transportive, without being overly formal. In the end, it wasn’t about any one detail, but about how everything came together to create a shared experience people would remember.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Demery: We really wanted to center the day around entertainment—creating a feeling that carried from start to finish through music. From the moment guests arrived, we had a mariachi band playing through the pre-ceremony and into cocktails, setting such a joyful, energetic tone. Then we shifted into the reception with two DJs, keeping that momentum going all night long.
For Nick, it was all about creating something that felt truly unique while also being respectful of the culture we were stepping into. We wanted every element to feel intentional honoring the spirit of CDMX while still reflecting who we are as a couple.
Any tips for couples getting married?
If you can spare the time a few days before the wedding, get to your location and spend a night or two together alone before the festivities start or folks come into town. We were truly blessed we had the extra days alone to lounge, go on long runs and just work out small things we wanted to make sure we did over the weekend. The wedding weekend truly goes by so fast, but those few days with each other filled to the brim with giddiness and excitement to share the city with our loved ones was well worth it.
And if you’re considering giving a speech to your partner, do it. It’s your wedding. We kept our vows short and instead each gave a speech one at the rehearsal dinner and another during the wedding. There’s something really special about telling your own story, in your own words. It also gave us a chance to warmly welcome our friends and family, especially those meeting for the first time and set the tone for the night ahead with a few heartfelt (and fun) moments.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Santo Spirito Roma Norte (dinner rehearsal): Absolutely fabulous. They were so amazing and so generous and sweet to work with. The manager Frederica is the warmest human. We went in casually with my husband’s parents in November for a full dinner and Frederic’s husband was a sweetie and had us try different wines for the event the full menu it was a dream. The Friday evening event was one of our favorites. The service was impeccable and many of our friends told us the following day their glass was never empty and their plate was always full. The space is stunning and the food is delicious I highly recommend this team and space for catering or at the restaurant.
Nous Nous, Our photographer: He has a unique style of getting quieter natural images. nothing too posed and more candid of every major moment.
A Mesa Puesta (CDMX based), Table Linens throughout our wedding reception.
Dance Fever Studios taught us everything we know for our first dance. We dove into a six-week salsa crash course and gave it our best—and had so much fun along the way. The team is incredibly kind, and we’re already planning to keep up with classes this summer.
