Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met via Hinge during lockdown way back when. We’ve been together for almost 5 years, and live in Clapham Junction, London!

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We found the location online after hours of scouring and loved it, with little to no consideration of where it was, then we realised it was in the same area that both George’s parents grew up in – so it felt like the stars aligned and it was a happy coincidence. We loved it as soon as we saw it and knew it was  the one.

How many guests did you have?

108 in total, both day and evening. Yazmine May captured our day.

Tell us about your outfits.

We got legally married on the Friday, and I always wanted a mini dress to contrast with my full-length gown on the Saturday. I wanted something simple and classic with a modern detail. I ordered and tried on about 15  dresses, and when the Shona Joy dress came I just knew it was the one. The bow earrings and kitten heels made the dress modern and current for me, which I loved. It felt a bit rebellious, but also classic.

I knew as soon as I tried on the Jenny Yoo dress from Halo & Wren that it was the one. I always wanted something minimal, chic, clean, but also a bit  romantic – and the wings and mesh sleeves brought the romanticism to life for me. But contrastingly, the details like the buttons down the back and the high thigh seam made it feel sexy. I feel like this was me in a wedding dress form!

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning  your wedding?

The two things we always said we would invest in the most are the food and  the photography. Firstly, everyone always remembers the food – if it was dry, if there was enough sauce etc – and it can really bring down the overall memory of the day if it isn’t right, so we had really high standards.

Secondly, the photography is the only thing that you will take from your day and have for the rest of your life (bar the dress and suit), so we did a lot of research and had a lot of discussions about what our ‘vibe’ was going to be.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

We worked with a tight budget and focused on finding the perfect venue that is a lovely enough setting without too much frill and added decor. Our style is generally clean and chic, so wanted to make sure the design reflects that while sitting in within the beautiful grounds of Sudeley. The glass marquee was such a bonus, as we could have chic, bistro style tables without breaking the bank with lots of additional dressing.

For florals, we worked with the incredible Jen from Liberty Lane, who understood our brief straight away and created the amazing florals for our ceremony and the tables. We wanted the ceremony florals to be our focal point and add interesting and chic varieties to the table. For all remaining props, Laura, our planner and stylist collected silverware items to add to all food and guest station.

Any tips for couples getting married?

1) Align early on about what you want and what your day will look like – incl. venue type, size, vibe, colour scheme.

2) Try to enjoy every step of it! It’s a once in a lifetime experience with the love of your life, relish in the good and the joyful of every decision and milestone.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

My very dear friend, Laura Lukasz, is a Freelance Creative Event Producer and has worked on everything from high fashion runway shows to luxury private parties and extraordinary weddings, all with exquisite detail – anything you want done, she can do it.
