Wedding | Veronica & Joshua

Tell us a little about yourselves!
Josh and I met in college in Orlando. We remained friends after I moved away to Spain for a year and a half, and during that time we talked every day. Eventually he came to visit me, and it was there that we fell in love. I eventually moved back home, and we dated for 10 years before getting engaged.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
During our 11 years now together, we’ve traveled to so many different countries together. But nothing ever beats the feeling we have when we’re in Barcelona. We knew that our nuptials needed to be where we fell in love.
How many guests did you have?
We had a small wedding with 85 guests.
What was your budget?
80K.
Tell us about your outfits.
My dress was from Jesus Peiro, which happens to be a Spanish bridal designer. I bought it on my first try ever when I was vacationing in Puerto Rico. Never tried another dress on again. My shoes were Jimmy Choo in a bronze-gold colour. The real star was my bouquet, cascading flowers all the way to the floor. It was stunning, a true work of art. My veil was from Etsy. The second dress is a vintage 1993 dress from a retailer called Gossamer. My third and final dress was from Zara, which I paired with white Converse.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
Having a team, including our planner and stylist Stress & Success Events, who understood the vision especially while planning a wedding from two different countries in different time zones. Communication can’t always be so easy. But every time we spoke, so much had been done, and I just felt that they were reading my mind.
The food was also a very important item for us, and my catering did not disappoint. Still to this day I wish I could go to that tasting again, and everyone who went to the wedding still talks about how good it was.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted a big party, since the majority of the guests were in their early 30s, and Mucho Fiestón was phenomenal. I am also Venezuelan and I wanted to have a piece of my culture there. We had midnight arepas, cachapas and tequeños.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Don’t stress out about the little details; enjoy planning together. Stop and soak it all in on the day of the wedding, because it goes by so fast.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Every single person on my team was amazing. From my wedding planners to my hair and makeup, photographer and videographer. From Mucho Fiestón to Maite Mach. Everyone worked together so smoothly. I felt like I was surrounded by best friends all day and through the whole planning process.
