Tell us a little about yourselves!

Nick and Jordan are from Cincinnati, Ohio, and met through fitness eight years ago. Now, residing in New York City, Nick and Jordan both enjoy living steps away from Central Park, exploring the five boroughs, and traveling.

Known to love Beyoncé, the Real Housewives (of any city), and sports, Nick and Jordan live in the moment, which makes New York City the perfect home. They were engaged for three years before deciding to elope in the greatest city in the world.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We decided to get married at The Carlyle because it is an iconic New York institution on the Upper East Side and we wanted the hotel as the backdrop for our photographs. We also went to Bemelmans Bar after we got engaged on the rooftop of our apartment building, so it only felt right to elope at The Carlyle. Additionally, we wanted the experience of staying at The Carlyle as a way to celebrate our marriage.

City Hall was an easy decision because we knew the logistics would be handled for us and the ceremony would be simple.

How many guests did you have?

We had zero guests. It was just the two of us, plus Travis L Collins and Sydney, our photographers.

What was your budget?

To be honest, we never really had a budget, but had an idea of how much we thought we were going to spend. That idea, of course, was quickly met with the reality of costs and expectations of what we wanted the experience to be. We started to plan and prioritize what was most important to us as a couple and ultimately made the decision to spend the amount of money needed to have the exact experience we wanted. Even though we spent more than expected, we would not change one financial decision about our wedding.

Tell us about your outfits.

We were inspired by classic American suits that would stand the test of time. We knew we wanted something similar, but a bit different. That is why we decided to go with one double-breasted and one single-breasted jacket. We explored different menswear options, and landed with Suitsupply.

Our tailor, Olivia Dienesch-Calamari, executed the most perfect custom suits. The style, fit, and fabric were exactly what we wanted. She knew what we were trying to achieve with a John F. Kennedy inspired-look. Google John F. Kennedy at The Carlyle and you will see the vision.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

The most important aspect of planning our wedding was making the day feel like us. We wanted the day to feel as "Nick and Jordan" as possible, which meant exercising in the morning, getting ready together at our own pace in the hotel room, embracing the excitement of saying "I Do" in quintessential New York fashion, and celebrating with great food and drink afterwards.

The second most important aspect was photography because the photographs last forever and truly capture the memories of the day.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

The elements that were most important for us to incorporate were the suits, rings, and The Carlyle for photographs. We wanted the overall experience of getting married to seem timeless and classic. Our goal was for the photographs to seem as if they could have been taken in 1966 or 2026.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Prioritize and plan the day in ways that feel natural and represent your relationship. Tune out all the "wedding noise" and make decisions as a team. Do what the two of you want. Spend a little more to have exactly what you want. You won't regret it.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel is an exceptional, five-star experience. If you ever have the chance to stay at the hotel and enjoy its amenities, restaurants, and bars, do it! It is iconic to say the least, and the hospitality and service are truly unbelievable.

Travis L Collins is an amazing photographer with an eye for detail. When first connecting, Travis was warm, inviting, and understood the vision of our elopement. He allowed us to move at our own pace, and captured moments that were subtle yet powerful. His aesthetic and use of film photography creates a timeless portfolio where documentary-meets-editorial. The photographs and moments he captured are stunning.

By the Way Bakery is an excellent gluten free and dairy free bakery in New York City. The wedding cake coordinator was super helpful and made a beautiful, vintage-inspired wedding cake. The detailing was perfect and the wedding cake was delicious. Highly recommend By the Way Bakery, regardless of dietary preferences.
