Tell us a little about yourselves!

We’re Micah and Jessica—a New York City couple who bonded over our mutual love of travel, design, and good pasta. By day, Micah’s working in tech sales and Jess is immersed  in the creative world (fashion/events/you name it). When we’re not in the office, you’ll find us scouting out new restaurants in the West Village, plotting our next Italian getaway, or convincing our dog Earl that he really does need one more walk.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Italy is our place to get away — the light, the language, the late-night espressos. Villa Durazzo in Santa Margherita Ligure felt like stepping into a dream: sun-drenched terraces overlooking the water, centuries-old gardens shaded by swaying palms, and all of our favorite people gathered in one of the world’s most romantic corners.

How many guests did you have?

We kept it to about 130 of our closest friends and family—enough of a crowd to feel festive, but still intimate enough that we could really circulate, hug everyone, and hear all the toasts.

What was your budget?

$75,000 USD.

Tell us about your outfits.

Ceremony look: Jess chose a minimalist strapless crepe gown with a cathedral length veil, elbow-length gloves, and layered pearl strands—timeless with a modern twist. I went classic in a white-tux jacket with black silk lapels, black trousers, and  elvet loafers.

Reception outfit: After dinner, Jess stunned in a red feather-trimmed cocktail dress  and sky-high floral sandals. I kept the same jacket but ditched the bow tie and  danced in my jacket-and-loafers combo.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Creating an authentic “weekend in Italy” experience—great food, good wine, lazy afternoons by the water, and a ceremony that felt like a party from start to finish. We wanted people to arrive stressed and leave barefoot, smiling, and already planning their next trip back.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Absolutely—pops of color everywhere. Summer by the sea inspired our palette: fuchsia bougainvillea woven into the florals, chartreuse bridesmaids’ gowns, and hand-painted invitations with coral and sky-blue accents. We wanted the joyful energy of an Italian summer to come through in every detail.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Pick a place you love. If you’re passionate about the location, everything else falls into place.

Trust your dream team. Hire vendors whose style you admire, then let them work their magic.

Lean into personal touches. Whether it’s a bold shoe, a family-recipe cocktail, or your dog at the rehearsal dinner—those little details make the day unmistakably yours.

Breathe and be present. On the day itself, set your phone aside and savor the moment.  The rest you’ll relive again and again in your photos.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Lato Photography was a total dream—capturing that golden-hour glow and all the candid moments we’ll treasure forever. But truly every vendor—from our florist Flower Jam and calligrapher to the villa’s on-site coordinator—played an integral role in bringing our vision to life.  We felt like we were in expert hands the entire time.
