Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met over 10 years ago in Austria. Tim was doing a ski season as a ski instructor, and I was on my first ski holiday with my family. You guessed it – Tim’s [first] guests were my family, and after my 2 sisters and father succumbed to either the pain of ski boots or exhaustion from throwing themselves down the nursery slope, I was proudly the last Hunt standing, and ended up with the ski instructor all to myself.

10 months later, Tim moved to London to live with me where we’ve been since. The fluke meeting brought 2 very different individuals together – Tim, a country boy from a small town in the Netherlands and me, a city girl through and through.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

My parents moved to Mallorca in 2023. On our first trip to visit them, they took us to Finca Biniagual for a wine tasting. We fell in love with the calm, tranquil, authentic Mallorcan setting… and the wine was delicious which helped! I had always dreamed of having a street party – style wedding, and Finca Biniagual was the perfect back drop for that.

How many guests did you have?

90 close friends and family members. Nina Wernicke captured our day.

What was your budget?

Approximately €100k for the main event.

Tell us about your outfits.

Fashion is a core part of my life, so my wedding outfits needed to live up to that. I wanted to bring designers that are important to me into my looks. My night before outfit was by Cortana Bridal. I fell in love with this brand after stumbling on the gorgeous shop in Palma. A trip to hotel Es Raco D’Arta meant a serendipitous meeting with Cortana’s founder and head designer Rosa. I fan-girled her hard and after a conversation where I mentioned I was getting married in Mallorca later in the year, she recommended the dress I wore to the welcome drinks. It was the perfect dress for the occasion – the soft blue and silvery tones blended magically with the Royal Yacht Club setting. I finished it off with a simple pair of Aeyde white mules, some statement Dries Van Noten earrings, and a raffia Rabanne clutch.

My wedding dress was always going to be Vivienne Westwood. My first purse, handbag, cocktail dress and suit were all by the designer, and I grew up adoring her corsetry. I actually bought the dress before we even had the venue or date booked! I finished it with some Delfina Delettrez horsehoe gold / diamond earrings, and gold Jimmy Choo slingbacks.

My evening look was a re-wear of the top half of a dress I had for my church wedding in the UK, from Australian designer Prea James. I paired this with blue sparkly Loewe heels which were surprisingly comfortable and Alessandra Rich heart earrings.

Tim worked with the fabulous Stylist Deborah Sheridan Taylor to find his night-before linen suit, and his wedding suit was designed and made by HAX Tailoring, a female led tailoring business based just off Saville Row.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Making sure the food and drink were memorable, that there was enough of it, and guests were entertained whilst we were having our pictures taken. The Party Lab, Finca Biniagual and Organichefs delivered fully on this brief.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

I wanted to honour my grandparents on my father’s side who played a big role in my upbringing, and are sadly no longer with us. I did a flute solo as a surprise, playing my grandad’s favourite song, Annie’s Song, which was supposed to originally be our first dance, but I managed to sway Tim away from it! It was a total surprise for him, as he’d never heard me play the flute before.

Aside from that, bringing touches that felt ‘us’ into the planning – leather coasters as favours for everyone given Tim’s business- Stalwart Crafts (although sadly the shipment arrived one day late so we need to ship out to our guests still!), farm to table organic dining, and to ensure our guests were given a taste of Mallorcan life – we spend a lot of time on the island, and wanted to show our guests our favourite places.

Any tips for couples getting married?

The more things you want to incorporate, the more that can go wrong. We spent a lot of time thinking about small touches to include which culminated in a large order from overseas, which showed up frustratingly the day after the wedding. Pick carefully and early, you don’t need to go overboard!

Men - bring 2 or 3 shirts (and a towel!) if you’re getting married abroad!

Get someone to double check the floor plan the night before to ensure any last minute cancellations haven’t messed it up.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

We feel very lucky that all of our vendors clearly tried so hard to make our day as special as it could be. I felt detachment anxiety once it was over! It would be unfair to call out anyone and would whole-heartedly recommend every single one.
