Tell us a little about yourselves!

We are from Brooklyn NY and met during the peak of the pandemic when things felt very uncertain in the world, but finding each other made the world feel comfortable again and gave us something that felt grounding and real.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We had recently been on a trip to Mallorca before getting engaged, and thought it would be such a cool place to bring our closest friends and family.

How many guests did you have?

70.

What was your budget?

60K but we went about 10K over.

Tell us about your outfits.

I wore three dresses, down the aisle as I wanted more drama, something that felt like an ancient goddess sculpture. Margot had the best option and it was the very first dress I saved in my inspo folder, so it was ironic she wound up going with it.

My second dress for the dance floor and cake cutting was by a local Brooklyn designer, Delfina Balda. Her studio is right off of the park (McCarren Park) where we had our first date and got engaged, so it felt special to include her in the big day.

Brendon wore a custom chocolate brown suit from Watson Ellis Custom.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We wanted it to feel like a beautiful party, where everyone had an opportunity to feel like the best version of themselves. Our attire was “Avante Garden”, inspiring folks to dress to the nines with eccentric sculptural pieces that always need an “excuse” to be worn. Our wedding was a destination wedding so we just wanted everyone to be having the best time ever, on vacation everyone feels like the best version of themselves.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

We both lost our mothers before we got engaged and married, so honoring them was important. We had columns of their favorite flowers surrounding us during our ceremony, tulips on the bridal side and roses on the groom side. Our guests had a single stem of each flower placed on their seats depending on which side they sat on, to hold and toss our way during our recession.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Make it your own, the most important thing is to have fun.
