Tell us a little about yourselves!
We are a French-Tunisian engineer and a Chinese wedding photographer who found each other just along the Covid pandemic. Through ups and downs, we’ve grown together — embracing adventures and challenges side by side. We can be curious children one moment and wise elders the next; we are sweethearts, but also each other’s best friend. Now we make our home in Hong Kong, where we live with our little one and a cat.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Marriage was never our top priority, but eventually we thought—why not? To us, it wasn’t just about us; it was a way to show love to our parents and connect our multicultural families and friends. It felt like a beautiful thing to do.
We held our wedding in northern France, at Les Communs Du Perche—a beautiful garden villa that made everything even more memorable.
How many guests did you have?
On the first day of the wedding we had 42 guests, and on the second day BBQ party we had 41 guests.
What was your budget?Â
50,000usd.
Tell us about your outfits.
We chose red, black, and white as our dress code — colors that represent love, life, death, and marriage across nearly all cultures. They are pure and powerful, conveying emotions both intense and subtle. All our guests dressed in harmony with this palette.
Nacim wore a burgundy red suit, while Eliza’s main gown was designed by a China-based Korean designer — a reimagined version of an iconic Valentino dress from the 1994 runway.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
To us, the most important aspect was to strengthen and share love with our families and closest friends from three cultures: France, Tunisia, and China. Both Nacim and Eliza hold the same core values—deep care for family and friendship. It was essential to gather everyone in celebration and joy.
Equally important was offering a window into who we are as a couple. The wedding reflected our personal style and aesthetics, serving as an expression of our identity and attitude toward life.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Since the wedding took place in France, incorporating subtle Chinese elements was both meaningful and essential for Eliza. We held a traditional tea ceremony, serving tea to our parents as a gesture of respect, gratitude, and love.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Our chef, Mr. Patrice Jodet, was a complete surprise. Not only did his culinary skills amaze us, but his presentation was also exceptionally beautiful, creative, and full of life. We absolutely loved his team.
Our photographer, Miss Isla He from Australia (Emotions & Math), was deeply involved and wonderfully expressive, drawing out the very best in us. Observant and gifted with an eye for both subtle and edgy beauty, her work transports us back to August 9th every time we revisit the photos.
Our florist, Marie Dujardin, is a young lady with remarkable openness and flexibility. She was excellent at listening and aligning with our vision—we wanted an anti-bride style for the decorations, and she brought it to life perfectly. Finding such a style in France isn’t easy, but Marie made it happen.
Our wedding cake was created by the Parisian studio Blend Bakery Studio. Cake chef Andy crafted a stunning black cake that turned out to be incredibly popular among our guests.
