Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met in the fall of 2022 and had our first date at a brewery (the ultimate Colorado stereotype). We fell quickly for each other as we discovered that we aligned in nearly every way – sense of humor, hobbies and interests, love for the outdoors, goals for the future and really good wine. Every step of our relationship has always felt intentional, from ring shopping to buying a home together to the wedding planning process. It’s always been the two of us against the world.

Paul proposed the day that we closed on the new home we bought together in Denver, after going to check it out on a Saturday afternoon in December 2024 “just for fun.” He got down on one knee in our unfurnished dining room as we sat in camping chairs with the ring we picked out together and the evening that followed involved a lot of happy tears, champagne, and pasta from one of our favorite restaurants, Tavernetta. It was one of the most perfect days we’ve ever had, closely following our wedding day.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Our top priority was a venue where all of our guests could stay, as we wanted a full weekend experience. We knew we wanted access to skiing and to give our guests a taste of what our lives are like in Colorado, and Devil’s Thumb Ranch fit the bill. The views didn’t hurt, either.

How many guests did you have?

155.

What was your budget?

More than we thought we’d spend, that’s for sure.

Tell us about your outfits.

Casey - I knew I wanted something different, and Danielle Frankel fit the bill. We custom made the skirt to add a long train, which made it feel more appropriate for a black tie wedding. I wanted a fun shoe, so I went with a pair of pearl-embellished Mach & Mach heels that were really comfortable.

My husband gifted me a pair of Arielle Ratner earrings to wear on our wedding day, paired with the Bottega clutch I had been lusting after as an early birthday present that added the pop of red I was looking for. I changed into a Simon Miller sequined suit for dancing.

Paul – I visited Balani Custom Clothiers in Denver to have my tuxedo custom made and added a red liner that featured skiers. We bought my bow tie and cummerbund from Ralph Lauren and I accessorized with the watch my wife gifted me on my wedding day.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We wanted a really incredible dinner party with multiple courses and a strong emphasis on guest experience. The band and the bar were equally as important, as well as including details that felt very “us,” like the martini bar (as two huge fans of dirty martinis), match boxes with a watercolor painting of our dog done by the incredible Alexandra Bertakis and hand written notes to each of our guests.

As a bit of an interior design nerd, Casey also really put emphasis on the look and feel of the reception space. She had a vision in mind that was dramatic with a nod to the very important date upon which we got married (February 14th).

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Yes, skiing is a huge part of our lives so we wanted to incorporate it. For us, that meant including a cross country relay on Friday afternoon to kick off the wedding weekend and hosting a tailgate and ski day at Winter Park on Sunday, with a chilli bar catered by Devil’s Thumb and plenty of beer.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Enjoy the process! It is such a special time to collaborate together as a couple and celebrate the small accomplishments.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Our florist, Yarrow and Spruce, went above and beyond for us, she was absolutely amazing and we loved working with her to make our vision come to life. One thing we really wanted was to include floral installations on the floor of the reception and the end result was as stunning and dramatic as we had hoped.

And of course – our amazing photographer Radostina Boseva and our wedding planner Heather at Table 6 Productions! Two incredible women who made the weekend perfect.
