Tell us a little about yourselves!
We met in 2017 by a friend. Nicolas comes from Antibes and I come from Strasbourg. We both came to Paris for our studies and careers. This city has united us, and we love it. What we love above all: travel, music, food, wine and our cat!
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Since we have been together, we often go to Italy, discovering a new city or region. The desire to marry Nicolas was born during our road trip in Tuscany. So when he asked I told him "Yes but our wedding has to be in Italy". He loves mountains. So we looked for locations in Aoste and Piedmont- it was a perfect excuse to discover a new region in Italy and we were charmed by Piedmont.
How many guests did you have?
95.
What was your budget?
We aimed for 30.000€ however, we surpassed it.
Tell us about your outfits.
We both like to go off the beaten track and differentiate ourselves. Style is important in our lives.
I never dreamed of the white dress since I did not plan to get married. I tried more than 40 dresses without finding the right one. I then drew what I would like to wear and I set out to find a designer who would like what I imagined and help me realize my idea. Amélia Peyron has truly been a queen: she listened and encouraged me when I doubted.
Nicolas wanted something Italian and wide cut, and pink because he loves this colour (and it suits him well). Most men's brands are very classic, few dare colours. He is often disappointed with men's fashion proposals. At Confident he was able to choose the cut and fabrics and feel that he personalized his outfit.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
Being sure that we would fully enjoy the day once it started without taking care of anything. We chose people with whom we truly connected: owners of the Castello, our photographer, Marie Malandain (she spent the weekend with us and our friends), the caterer etc. Even for our rings: we enjoyed chatting with Guilhem & Olivier at Persta Paris, and going to our appointments. All the wedding was about connecting with people.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Music was very important for the whole day, we wanted the dinner to be like a banquet to gather people together. It was quite a simple wedding in a wonderful timeless villa, the food was excellent, the waiters, and the music group set the mood! We love to party, and we trusted our friends and families to contribute with their energies and everyone had a great time.
Any tips for couples getting married?
You can organize your wedding yourself without a wedding planner but with good service providers in whom you trust, it will require you to do it in advance. No need to surprise your guests at all costs: they are there to celebrate you, what matters is your energy! A place you like, good music and very good food, a little space for the unexpected so that your witnesses/family can give you one or two surprises!
A wedding is a reunion of family and friends, the expression of pure and sincere emotions. Enjoy especially the wedding day, we don't care if it's not perfect!
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Villa Coazzolo: Maria Pia and her family were very nice and caring the whole day and we enjoyed sharing our wedding with them.
Mole Catering: Morgana and her team are very professional, the food is good and they are truly attentive to the guests!
Those two vendors did everything so that we did not have to worry about anything on the wedding day.
Shout out to Amélia Peyron Parie for my dress, Marie Malandain Photography for giving us wonderful souvenirs and Olivier and Guilhem at Persta for their patience as it took us some time to choose our rings.
