Why did you decide to get married where you did?
Comporta is deeply meaningful for us — we have a family home there and have spent over a decade vacationing in the area before shifting their life from Berlin and committing to Portugal with Lisbon and Comporta. The wedding felt right to be at our chosen home, and was designed to feel authentic to our life, rhythm, and personal connection to this landscape of calm, nature, and simplicity.
How many guests did you have?
140.
What was your budget?
100-150K.
Tell us about your outfits.
Camille's haute couture gown was born from an intimate, intuitive collaboration with Claire Châtaigner. Our process began with sketches shaped by Camille's own subconscious expectations of what a gown "should" be. Close to giving up, we chose instead to start from the simplest form: draping directly on a plain cotton toile. From this beginning, the gown gradually became a sculptural, deeply personal work of creation, later further extended through assisting Claire with her mother's dress.
Luca's wedding suit was a long-standing dream realized: a bespoke Rubinacci piece inspired by Italian tailoring traditions and the timeless elegance of Lapo Elkann and Gianni Agnelli. Crafted by hand in Naples, it blended formality with sophistication, perfectly suited to their church ceremony in Comporta.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
Authenticity, hospitality, and wellness. We wanted guests to experience the essence of our life together: a place that felt like home (Comporta), a food-centered experience (wood-fire dinner Friday; seafood feast Saturday) and a wellness dimension (Mat Pilates with the Poise Method + Soundbath & Beathwork with Sound of Kala)
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Community, creativity, and presence. Avoiding anything "stuffy," we centered the weekend around connection: shared villas, shared meals, and activities that reflected who we are personally and professionally.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Life's too short not to make it count. Let your wedding reflect your truth, not anyone else's expectations.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Jimena San Miguel (Volvoreta)'s work is a meditation on light, texture, and the subtleties of human presence . During the wedding, she moved seamlessly alongside the couple, fully present yet invisible, noticing the fleeting glances, whispered laughter, and tender exchanges that define intimacy. Her sensitivity to rhythm, atmosphere, and the natural flow of life allowed her to create images that feel alive and authentic, each frame resonating with warmth, depth, and emotion. Jimena's presence is not only that of an observer but of a collaborator, guiding moments gently and intuitively. The resulting photographs do more than capture the day—they preserve its soul, creating memories of and for a lifetime, moments that the couple can return to again and again, each time discovering something new, intimate, and true.
With Claire Châtaigner, creating a gown is a journey, not a commission. She navigates the delicate intersection of intuition, craft, and emotional resonance, guiding the bride toward a vision she had not yet imagined for herself. What began as sketches constrained by expectation became an exploration of simplicity, draping directly on a cotton toile until the gown itself revealed its sculptural, intimate truth. Claire's process is generous, patient, and profoundly personal, allowing the bride to inhabit the dress as a living reflection of herself. The result is more than a garment; it is a work of art, a vessel of memory, and a testament to the transformative power of honesty, trust, and collaboration.
For the groom, dressing for his wedding was never just about a suit—it was about a lifelong vision of style. A vision shaped by the effortless elegance of Italian icons like Gianni Agnelli and later reinterpreted by his nephew, Lapo Elkann, whose aesthetic bridges classical menswear with modern cultural fluency. The couple's connection to Comporta runs even deeper: Lapo is not only an inspiration, but also a neighbour of the couple in the coastal enclave they now call home.
Rubinacci is not a tailoring factory; it is a living institution. Luca Rubinacci accepts only a handful of new clients each year, preserving the intimacy of true sartorial craft. Every suit is cut, stitched, and finished by hand in the family's historic atelier in Naples, where time moves at the pace of artisanship, not trend cycles.
The moment Luca Rubinacci heard the wedding location—Comporta—he didn't need mood boards or lengthy briefs. He already understood the cultural landscape, the light, the textures, the unspoken dress code of the coast. He responded not with options, but with a proposal. That ability to contextualise heritage within place is what made the decision obvious. The groom wanted a tailor who speaks the language of tradition, but thinks in the world of today—someone who delivers style that is rooted, relevant, and quietly definitive. This is the essence of the suit: classic in foundation, sharp in cultural awareness, and precise in execution. A piece made for the moment, but built to last far beyond it.
