Tell us a little about yourselves!

Jack is a drummer and I'm a creative director. Creativity has always been the backbone of our relationship. We've been together for nine years, and music, design and shared experiences have shaped so much of our life together. We met in London through mutual friends and instantly connected over music and creativity.

We're both quite instinctive people, very much “if it feels right, do it”, which definitely influenced the way we approached our wedding too.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

London is where we met, fell in love and spent years building our life together, so getting married there felt inevitable. Hackney Town Hall was an easy choice for us. The Art Deco architecture is striking without being overly grand, timeless without feeling traditional or stiff. It felt iconic but understated, which perfectly reflected the kind of day we wanted.

After the ceremony, we had dinner in one of the private dining rooms at the Hawksmoor Guildhall, one of our favourite restaurants and somewhere tied to so many memories and milestones for us already. We loved the idea of celebrating in places that already meant something to us, rather than creating a wedding day that felt disconnected from our real life together.

How many guests did you have?

We had 20 guests in total. We always knew we wanted something intimate and intentional, just our closest friends and family. Keeping it small made the whole day feel really relaxed and personal.

What was your budget?

We kept the budget fairly minimal by wedding standards and spent just over £10k all in. We're currently renovating our home, and honestly we'd usually rather spend money on things like travel, motorbikes or clothes, so having a huge traditional wedding never felt like us. We focused on spending money on the things that genuinely mattered to us and keeping everything else simple.

Tell us about your outfits.

Because we planned the wedding quite quickly, my dress had to be off-the-rack, which initially felt stressful. I knew I wanted something minimal, chic and timeless. I found the Victor dress by Halfpenny London at The White Closet in Didsbury and instantly fell in love with the fabric and silhouette. It felt effortless and elegant, I made a few tweaks with a local seamstress and it was exactly what I wanted.

For the ceremony, I wore Steve Madden heels and my sister's borrowed veil, which made it feel even more personal. In the evening, I changed into Zara heels and added a silk scarf that I created using fabric I'd found to perfectly match the dress, which was then made by a local alterations studio the day before the wedding. I loved that it gave the look a softer, more relaxed after-dark feel.

The night before the wedding, while exploring Camden with our photographer, I wore a Zara blazer dress I found on Vinted, paired with Zara heels and a second-hand pearl bag. It felt relaxed, cool and completely unforced, which really summed up the overall feeling we wanted for the entire wedding.

Jack wore a classic tux with shoes from Moss, really timeless, sharp and unfussy, which suited both him and the setting perfectly.

Our rings were also incredibly personal. Jack's ring is a silver heart signet from The Great Frog, a place that means a lot to us as we've bought each other many meaningful gifts there over the years. The heart is engraved with my initial.

I designed my rings with Noah James in Manchester, who also created my engagement ring. My wedding band is a baguette diamond eternity ring, paired with an ouroboros ring set with diamond eyes. I loved the symbolism of eternity and unity, and I've always been very “more is more” when it comes to jewellery.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

The most important thing for us was making sure the day genuinely reflected who we are. We didn't want tradition for tradition's sake or a wedding that felt performative. We wanted it to feel relaxed, personal and emotionally honest.

Music was a huge part of that. We both love Deftones, so we walked into a piano compilation of Sextape and Cherry Waves, and left the ceremony to Entombed. That moment completely overwhelmed both of us emotionally and is something we'll never forget.

We also wanted the day to feel connected to our real life and relationship, which is why choosing meaningful locations mattered so much to us.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Music was probably the biggest one. It's such a huge part of our relationship and one of the things that brought us together in the first place, so we wanted it woven through the whole day in a meaningful way.

As a creative director, I also designed our invitations myself, keeping them minimal with subtle burgundy details for a slightly gothic edge that felt very “us”.

Florals were intentionally simple too, white roses, candlelight and glass vases, all chosen to complement the clean, understated feel of the day rather than overpower it.

We also really wanted to incorporate places that already held memories for us. The night before the wedding, we wandered around Camden with our photographer and revisited KOKO, where we first met. It almost felt like a full-circle moment. Our first meeting was almost like a blind date. A mutual friend had organised a night out and said he thought we'd get on. I hadn't even seen a photo of Jack beforehand. I walked into KOKO and noticed this handsome guy smoking on the balcony, tattoos, long hair, very much the 'bad boy' that was absolutely my type at the time lol. I went to the bar to order a drink when he came over and said, “You're Brogan, right? I'm going to marry you.” And well…here we are.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Do exactly what feels right for you. Don't get too caught up in expectations or what a wedding is “supposed” to look like. The best parts of our day came from making decisions instinctively and choosing things that genuinely reflected us as a couple.

Also, the day goes by incredibly quickly, so really try to enjoy each other and be present in it all. The most memorable moments for us were often the quiet, emotional ones in between everything else.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Anna Dunlop Weddings was absolutely incredible from start to finish. She was so attentive, kind, and genuinely considerate throughout the entire day.

She captured everything we had hoped for and more, going above and beyond. As a creative director, I came into the process with a very clear vision and she not only understood that immediately but embraced it. She was patient, collaborative, and completely tuned into what we were trying to achieve, which made the whole experience feel seamless and aligned.

What really stood out was how she handled our intimate ceremony. She was so warm and natural with our guests, making everyone feel comfortable while still managing to capture those candid, meaningful moments beautifully.

We couldn't be happier with the result she delivered something truly special, and we're so grateful to have had her as part of our day.

Dinner was at Hawksmoor, which has always been one of our favourite places to eat. Their private dining rooms are beautiful, and all of the staff were amazing and helped make the room feel bespoke for our evening.

We spent our wedding weekend at The Ned, which gave us exactly the slightly cinematic, New York-inspired city atmosphere we wanted. Again, amazing staff across the whole hotel who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful weekend.
