Tell us a little about yourselves!

We live in Melbourne, have a cat named Frankie and both love skiing and snowboarding, travel, good food and wine.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

We met in Spain and got engaged in Menorca, so going back to the beautiful island of Menorca felt like the only right place to tie the knot.

How many guests did you have?

It was just us, Bel’s mum, dad and brother and our 2 amazing photographers. Originally we planned to elope but it was so special and we felt really lucky to have close family there on the day.

What was your budget? 

30k.

Tell us about your outfits.

Bel wore Grace Loves Lace and Alex wore MJ Bale. We wanted to keep it really simple and timeless.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Most important thing to us was that it felt like our perfect day – a morning swim, exploring during the day and having a super intimate ceremony. It genuinely was our perfect day and we were so happy that we made our wedding day exactly how we wanted it.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

For Alex, a relaxed atmosphere without any stress or pressure was everything – the morning swim set the tone for the remainder of the day.

Bel’s flowers were important as her mum walked down the Isle 35+ years ago holding blue Iris, and her dad wore one on his lapel. It was a bit of a homage to their beautiful relationship that really shaped Bel’s idea of what a healthy, happy relationship should look like. 

Also we wanted to keep our vows separate from the rest of the day – we did these at sunset in a really intimate location on the property.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Keep it simple, keep it authentic to you as a couple and think of the best day you’ve had together as a couple and incorporate as much of that day into your wedding day!

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Highly recommend our photographers Alanis K Photography (Sydney based) & Sus Pons (Spain based). Our accommodation and wedding venue, Santa Ponsa Fontinelle Menorca was incredible also.
