Tell us a little about yourselves!
We met during university in our hometown in Italy (Trento) - after graduating we moved together to Berlin where we still live today.Â
Why did you decide to get married where you did?Â
We wanted a place that felt like a contrast — raw light against our dark aesthetic. Puglia had that balance of minimalism and warmth, an openness that allowed us to bring our own mood into it. We spend a lot of time there when we miss Italy — it’s become our place to slow down, reconnect, and escape Berlin’s intensity. Some of our friends have homes there too, so it already feels a bit like our second world. We love the calm, the food, the sea — there’s a certain stillness that makes us feel instantly at ease. It felt natural to get married in a place that already holds so much of our life and energy.
How many guests did you have?
70.
What was your budget?Â
50K.
Tell us about your outfits.
Amelie wanted to force everyone to wear black - this is the only color she wears because it makes her feel snatched and sexy, therefore she wanted everyone to look sexy. It actually worked out pretty well we have friends who met on our wedding weekend and now they’re dating.
Leo felt he wanted to stand out from the crowd and decided to wear head-to-toe white - someone has to be the birde!!
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The dinner was the most important moment, we love to eat and our friends love to eat as well. We wanted it to be an experience in terms of taste but also in terms of performance. It needed to fit an aesthetic that’s more brutalist (the Berlin part in us), but with that touch of dark romance (the Italian part in us). It ended up being a great mix - the catering is based in Berlin but originally from Italy (like us) so they completely understood the result we wanted to achieve.
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We wanted to play with mirrors and candles: we felt it was playing into that dualism of dark-brutalist romance: the mirrors are strict, the candles were melting softly. There was something gothic but modern about it.
Any tips for couples getting married?
Focus on one thing (the most important for you-for us it was the dinner) and be more flexible on the rest - otherwise you’re just going to lose it.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
A massive shout out to everyone involved - from the location to the wedding planning team: everyone went over the top to meet our expectations. We’ve been told our requests were really unique and never heard of in a region like Puglia and the vendors we worked with took this as a challenge and as a chance to diversify their portfolio. We appreciated that.Â
The catering actually created our table cloth following Amelie’s instructions based on a dream she had (yes, that was the reference ahaha) with no clear mood board they were able to recreate exactly what she wanted from the hand paint to the consistency of the fabric to the specific shade of beige/off-white she had in mind.
