Tell us a little about yourselves!

Alex and I have been together for almost 6 years. Alex grew up in New Hampshire and ended up in NYC after he graduated law school to work as a prosecutor. I was born and raised in NY and working as a Senior Wealth Strategist. We met right as COVID began. Our story started on Hinge, quickly evolved into 6 hour facetime calls and then turned into us quarantining ourselves for weeks just so we could meet each other in person. Then we met. It felt like finally coming home after years of being away. We both just looked at each other as if to say, “Where have you been? What took you so long?” It was like being homesick for a place you’ve never been. We just fit.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Saint Agnes Cathedral is Alexis' childhood church, where she grew up and made all of her sacraments.  This is also the church where Alexander converted to Catholicism and made all of his sacraments in 2025. For our religious ceremony we wanted it to be super private and intimate. Essentially family only.

We knew we wanted to have a larger, destination celebration with all of our friends and family shortly afterwards in Maine, so we kept our church ceremony and brunch super small. We chose to have our larger celebration in Maine because it’s a very special place for Alex. He grew up visiting Maine as a child, fishing there often as a young man and ultimately decided to propose to me there. Most of Alex’s friends and family are located in New Hampshire and Massachusetts which isn’t too far from southern Maine. We wanted a place where all of our friends and family could come for an entire weekend to celebrate our love.

How many guests did you have?

We had 25 guests at the church ceremony and 125 guests at the Maine wedding at The Viewpoint Hotel. Both celebrations were captured by Molly Adams.

What was your budget?

Alex and I threw this wedding on our own, without any financial help from either of our families. We were hoping to spend around 80K and ended up spending a little over 100K. (It was worth every penny).

Tell us about your outfits.

For the Church Wedding: Jackie Kennedy, classic 1950s, early 1960s inspiration.

For the Maine Wedding: Priscilla Presley Late 1960’s classic glam vibes mixed with chic, simple 90’s elements (think Carolyn Bassette and JFK JR. in Martha's Vineyard)

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We wanted the vibes to be authentically “us”. We also wanted to enjoy the day so we were very specific about how we allocated our time. We didn’t want to spend half the evening talking to extended relatives we haven’t seen in 10 years. So we decided to be extremely selective with our guest list. There were no pity invitations, and if you hadn’t met us or had not seen or spoken to us in the last 6 months, than you were out.

The main goal was to have our guests enter and immediately think 'this feels like Lexi and Alex' and I really believe we succeeded. Every single detail was thoughtfully curated and selected to represent who we are each are as individuals and of course who we are together. The most important detail for Alex and I was definitely the vibe and for us- that means the music. We are lucky enough to have personal relationships with two very talented, well known DJs in NYC- Anna Collecta and Atilla Ural who did us the biggest solid and performed at our wedding in Maine! They curated the vibes for the entire day and it was honestly perfection.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Yes. I lost my younger brother and best friend Ryan just over three years ago. We found ways to incorporate Ryan into the entire weekend. All of the songs we chose were songs he loved. We had the first chair closest to us reserved just for him, and a sign written to him that said “and if I must love you at this new distance, I will love you so fiercely it will be felt in every universe that lies between us”. We also spoke about him during our ceremony as well as during our first look, where we said our private vows to each other.

We also were able to incorporate my grandfather, Brendan into the wedding weekend which was so special.  My grandfather was an artist and we had found a sketch that he did many years ago in an old sketch book.  The drawing was of an old light house, a light house that looked exactly like the Nubble Light House at The Viewpoint Hotel. We were able to take the image and have our designer, Lauren created our beautiful welcome sign so all of our guests could see his beautiful work. On top of that, before our wedding my grandma Marilyn who was married to my grandpa Brendan gave Alex and I their original wedding bands from the 1950s. We are so honored to be wearing their rings.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Absolutely. Go in the direction that inspires you and ignore the rest of the noise. Do what makes you comfortable, what feels authentic to you. It’s your day! Make it what you want.

Additionally- Vet every vendor. Do your research so you can make sure you’re assembling the best possible team for your special day.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Yes- my hair and makeup team. The morning of my wedding, the makeup artist we had originally hired and paid for called us to tell us her family members were in a tragic accident. I immediately called Lauren Kinton, my hair stylist and told her what happened. She jumped into action and used her connections and relationships in the industry to literally save the day. Like clockwork, they assembled a team of makeup artists to come take care of not only me, but my entire bridal party as well. Hours later, after Lauren Kinton and Amanda McCarthy Beauty showed up and took care of absolutely everything, we were informed that the original makeup artist had fabricated the story. To do this to a bride on the morning of her wedding is truly unfathomable. I tell the story to highlight Lauren Kinton and Amanda McCarthy Beauty‘s unwavering commitment to their work and to their clients. Without these two girls, the entire day would have been a different experience. They took over seamlessly and did everything to make sure the day went smoothly. I will forever be grateful to these two amazing women.
