Real Wedding | Vilde + Eirik

Tell us a little about yourselves!

Eirik and I live in Oslo, Norway. We met back in 2013 at a graduation party out in the woods. Not really the place where you expect to meet the love of your life, but here we are - 10 years later!

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Right after we got engaged, we already knew that we wanted a small and intimate wedding with only our immediate family and friends present. When we started to talk about a location, we thought that doing the wedding somewhere abroad would be cool. We looked at each other and said Italy at the same time, so that was it!

How many guests did you have?

25 guests.

What was your budget?

Our original budget on the wedding itself was 180 000,- kroner. But we went a little over, hehe.

Tell us about your outfits.

Eirik was wearing his Bunad, a Norwegian folk costume. The Bunad is considered to be the nicest piece of clothing that you can own in Norwegian culture and it shows where you come from the country, so for Eirik the choice on what to wear was obvious. On our wedding day, Eirik surprised me with a new vest in my favourite colour green. Eirik changed into a beige linen suit by These Glory Days before dinner.

I wore the Wisteria gown with a belt by Alena Leena for the ceremony. I bought the dress at White by Green in Oslo and instantly loved the way I felt wearing it. It was sophisticated and with a modern twist with the high split. It was a nice bonus that I felt like it would go nicely together with the bunad. I did put a bit of personal touches into the rest of the outfit. My veil from Ofrenda Studio had details of wildflowers, corn and strawberry. It felt a bit symbolic since I grew up on a farm. I wore my mothers wedding shoes and and my late grandmothers ring. After dinner, I changed into the Elise dress by Divine Atelier. This dress had my heart first time I saw it. So timeless and yet modern with the feather hem and low back. The dress was paired with gorgeous earrings from Maison Sabben, which I wore the whole day and fabulous gold heels from Loeffler Randall.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

We wanted to have fun and enjoy the journey of planning our wedding. Of course, it made the whole difference since we had the most amazing wedding planner. She really made the whole process a pretty relaxing journey. After our wedding in Italy, Eirik and I had a bigger wedding reception (in terms of number of guests) planned at home in Norway for our extended family and friends. And obviously this demanded a bit more effort from us and our parents, since we did everything ourselves. It made us even more (if possible) grateful to Valentina of LaLindi and the rest of the team who made our wedding in Italy so special.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Eirik and I really wanted to walk down the isle together, but at the same time I didn’t want him to see me before the ceremony. The solution then became that Eirik would walk first and wait for me by the beginning of the isle. Then I walked after him and then we walked the last part together.

Eirik sister officiated us and she did the most amazing job making the whole ceremony feel intimate. We had asked her beforehand if she could please inform our guests to put their phones and cameras away during the ceremony. We are really happy that we did, because it made everyone present in the moment.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Get a wedding planner! Or at least someone to coordinate the wedding a little bit. I mean, we did both and we can definitely say that the time with a wedding planner before, during and after the wedding contained a lot less stress.

Another tip is to try to be as present as possible. The day goes by so fast, and if you are constantly thinking about whats going to happen next or what went wrong here and there - you won’t remember the really, really good parts. If things don’t turn out the way they were planned, just let it be. Most likely the guests won’t notice and you will definitely have more fun if you just decide to let it go.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

I mean, it is impossible to choose just a couple of the vendors. Everyone contributed in the most valuable way.

Our wedding planner, Valentina of LaLindi was the mastermind behind it all and made the whole planning process feel super easy. This woman gets it done! She also contributed with a lot of creative and cool ideas both before and during the wedding. Together with Marypoppies, she had the idea to decorate our wedding cake with leftover stems and flowers from the wedding decor. Such a cool and unique idea!

Pometti gave us the most incredible stay at their villa, Villa Boscarello. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of this place. We all stayed there for 3 nights and felt so welcome and well taken care of. The food and wine was also exquisite.

If you try to picture (no pun intended) the perfect wedding photografer, Samantha Rivieccio is it. She made us feel like we had known her for years and for a couple like ourselves (who don’t really care much for posing in pictures) it was key to have someone who made us feel comfortable. The pictures also turned out spectacularly.

Liza Samhokina created the perfect hair and makeup-look. She did exactly what I had envisioned and is incredible talented. She also made me have such a good time getting ready before the ceremony.

Marypoppies made the most magical set up for our ceremony. My bouquet was so unique and creative. The contemporary garden created the perfect atmosphere for both an emotional and fun dinner. And after Valentina came with another cool idea, she made me a second (!!) bouquet to toss to our guests from the second floor of the villa with 'Single Ladies' playing from the speakers.

Firenze Classica music created the perfect atmosphere during the ceremony and aperitivo. They were also incredibly talented.

We are forever grateful for all of them!
