Tell us a little about yourselves!
Casimir and I have been together for almost 5 years. On our anniversary of four years we got married at the City Hall in January 2022. However, we wanted a summer party so we celebrated with friends and family in late August. We run a business together called Hot Topic Food Studio, where we take photographs and videos for food brands. So, obviously we like good food! And that was - together with a good visual concept - very important for our wedding party. We don’t like cliché’s or being in the centre of attention so we organized a casual and chill party.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We decided on Villa Anamma as the location fit our concept (Italian chic) perfectly and they were also very open minded. It was also close to our hometown, so we knew it would be easy for family and friends to attend.
How many guests did you have?
100 - 50 for the reception and and additional 50 for the party.
Tell us about your outfits.
After weeks of searching the obvious on- and offline shops, I finally found the perfect dress. It was simple with a special touch and Italian and I found it at Mango! I had to adjust it a little and then dressed it up with a head band, big earrings, colorful shoes and a Naf Naf handbag. All in the colors of our branding.
For Casimir we found casual dress pants with a casual linen light green shirt and simple black sneakers.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
The concept really had to be done right. The stationery, the styling, the cake, everything had to fit the theme! As a stylist and art director that was very important to me that I could also use my creativity and experience for our party. It had to be memorable!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We did not want a traditional party at all so it was very important to us both that everything was chill, casual and done as we wanted it. We didn’t want to do anything against our wills. So no ceremony, no speeches, no cake cutting or slow dancing for us.
Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?
Do what you want and not what tradition tells you. Also everyone has an opinion on something, only listen to the things that feel right for you. And decide on your guest list quite early on in the planning and stick to it, no matter what other people might say or expect.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
The three most important vendors for us were our photographer I Am Liz, our planner and stylist Méra Studio and our venue Villa Anamma.
Liz was the first person we contacted. We even switched dates so she could be our photographer because I really wanted colorful easy going pictures! Then we confirmed our location that was so perfect - and Nele our organiser was really open minded and gave us lots of ideas and help. And lastly Femke from Méra Studio. It was a big step for me to let go the styling but I’m so glad she understood what we wanted, we created it together. She made everything look perfect on the day so I could relax. It was absolutely perfect and we would love to do it again!
