Real Wedding | Morgan + Jake

Tell us a little about yourselves!

We met on Hinge in 2020 right at the start of the pandemic. Jake was Morgan’s first date on the app and Jake jokes that Morgan was his 124th Hinge date. About a year and a half into dating, we committed to adding a child to our lives — a mini bernedoodle we named Georgia. Not long after, we got engaged in Oahu, Hawaii.

When not planning a wedding, we’re working through our restaurant hit list, adventuring with Georgia, and traveling.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

For the experience we wanted at our wedding and for our guests, Foreign Cinema just checked every single box and then some. Excellent food, immaculate ambiance, wonderful service, and just a mile away from where we live. It was a vibe and we’d recommend the venue over and over again.

How many guests did you have?

90. May Iosotaluno Photography captured our day.

Tell us about your outfits.

Bride — I found my dress on Danielle Frankel's Instagram before I even got engaged. I tried on numerous dresses in the Bay Area but ultimately flew down to LA to visit Loho Bride and came home with the exact dress I found on Instagram months prior. As an added bonus, I found a fun reception dress at Loho as well, made by the same designer.

Groom — Echoing our priority to make our wedding warm and welcoming, we decided that a suit would provide a less formal vibe for the evening. We found a great suit and most importantly a fantastic tailor at Todd Synder in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. Finishing touches were Gucci tie and pocket square.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

Bringing all of our favorite people together in one place to celebrate a milestone in our lives. Above all, we wanted the day to be warm, welcoming, fun, and chic.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

Live music and great food. After all, those are things that people remember!

Any tips for couples getting married?

In planning the wedding, think about what really matters and concentrate on those priorities when making decisions.

During the wedding, remember to stay present. It goes by in a blink of an eye!
