Tell us a little about yourselves!
Stephan and I have met at his best man’s wedding. He was single I was not - so we did not immediately get together. However, as soon as I was single, his best man and his wife organised for us to meet. We fell in love so quickly - we still can't believe ourselves! Both of us have never been happier in life than we are today.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
During the pandemic it was very difficult to plan a wedding to begin with. Aside from that, Stephan’s grandmother was very sick and not able to travel. Therefore, we decided to move away from our original plans to marry in Merano, Italy and instead organise a wedding locally, so that Stephan’s grandmother was able to join us. She loved the wedding at Schloss Gartrop and it was one of the best days she had in months! Only 2 months after our wedding she passed away. We are beyond thankful that she was able to be there on our day.
How many guests did you have?
We had 14 guests.
Tell us about your outfits.
We are both not big fans of big ballgowns and loads of fabric and lace. So Stephan decided to wear a custom made, blue Zegna suit and I went for a minimal dress outfit which were separates including a skirt, a belt and a corsage top. I also wore blue Jimmy Choo heels that were personalised with our initials as well as a matching blue bow.
We also kept floral styling minimal and classic and went with white and green flowers by Floral Optimal.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
That Stephan’s grandmother could be at our wedding and that the wedding felt like a nice get-together rather than an anonymous party.
Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?
We planned our wedding as if it would “only” be a nice family dinner, small and cozy - and this was just the best decision! We will most probably have a big party with far more people in 10 years when we renew our wedding vows.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Everybody was great and super helpful however, our photographers Wolken Mit I were amazing. All of our guests mentioned that the two felt like they were also our wedding guests rather than photographers. Last but not least, the boutique where I bought my wedding dress. Say Yes is the place where you need to go if you are looking for perfect service. You are always the only bride in store and they also have a great selection of dresses!
