Real Wedding | Lucia + Ryan

Tell us a little about yourselves!

We lived just 4 minutes apart, yet our paths never crossed. Our first date happened in September 2021, and after the second, we couldn't stand being apart for even a week. Book swaps and countless pints of ice cream later, we realized we had something special. We discovered a shared love for travel and cooking, collecting snow globes during our trips. Although, it's worth mentioning that only one of us managed to set the oven on fire while cooking. Our engagement took place in Park City after Luli's first day of skiing. On an ice-skating rink, Luli found a snow globe with a ring inside. Ryan proposed in both English and Spanish.

Why did you decide to get married where you did?

Getting married in Napa/Sonoma was a priority for us and infusing it with that European destination wedding vibe held equal importance.

How many guests did you have?

65.

What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?

When planning our wedding, our focus was creating that European destination vibe so the venue and décor was super important. We wanted our guests to have a non-traditional but extremely elevated experience. It was crucial to find a photographer who could capture our story with a fun but editorial flair, and a wedding designer who could help us find that unique venue and bring all the unique elements to life and unify all the colors we wanted to incorporate in a cohesive and elevated way.

Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?

We wanted fun, chic and non-traditional décor, including hand-written/painted stationery, tons of citrus, vibrant colors, and unique floral arrangements, notably our chuppah florals and centerpieces by House of Fleurish.

Any tips for couples getting married?

Hire the right vendors that can bring your vision to life and making sure you have fun doing it.

Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?

Our photographer Michelle Alexandra Photography exceeded our expectations in capturing our story, while our wedding planner Leilani Donnan Events brought our vision to life, creating a stunning, elevated celebration beyond our imagination. Our florist House of Fleurish also played a significant role in bringing our vision to life.
