Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We met during a vacation in Rome a few years ago and have been together ever since. When we decided to get married, we couldn't think of anywhere else to celebrate our special day.
So, thanks to our planner Sara Tusset, on a May afternoon – with a typically London mood - we swore eternal love in front of the Gianicolo fountain. On board a 500 we then reached Trastevere, the heart of popular Rome, where we strolled through its characteristic alleys, eating icecream, and finally dining in one of its typical restaurants, just where a few years ago we met and fell in love.
How many guests did you have?
We had no guests, as it was an elopement.
Tell us about your outfits.
I fell in love with my dress by Laure de Sagazan from Merry me Roma as soon as I put it on. Minimal, elegant, comfortable. In one word - timeless. Perfect for a city elopement!
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We went into this with no real plan except to capture the moment to remember and share with our loved ones at home!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
We have a thing for everything made in Italy, so we absolutely wanted what most represent it : the Fiat 500 from Ghisu Autonoleggio!
Any tips for couples getting married, particularly during the pandemic?
Our advice is to follow your instincts - and your heart. Wherever it wants to take you.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Sara Tusset, our planner. She was really precious. She guided us through every step, advising and helping but always respecting our ideas.
And then Elisa Rinaldi, our photographer. She gently managed to make us feel comfortable in front of the camera and thanks to her photos we will always have a special memory of this day!
