Tell us a little about yourselves!
Rem and I met at university and got engaged in December 2021. We are both from Sydney however, moved to London shortly after getting engaged. It was so special to travel back to Australia to celebrate our wedding with our friends and family in September this year.Â
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We both loved the idea of getting married in Adelaide, which is a special place to us and to Rem’s family as his mum and extended family are from Adelaide. Beyond being a beautiful venue, we thought it would be a lot of fun to introduce our friends to Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills over a fun long weekend.
How many guests did you have?
Just under 130.
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We wanted to spend as much time as possible at our wedding enjoying ourselves and connecting with our guests. We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at Golding Wines. Our ceremony and drinks were outside overlooking the vineyard, which meant we could really settle in and enjoy ourselves with a cocktail as soon as the ceremony ended. Our reception was inside, and the space worked so well for dinner, mingling and dancing.
Any tips for couples getting married?
We chose to use a wedding planner, Kelly from Found Collective and it made wedding planning so much more manageable and fun. Given we live in London, having a local wedding planner who we trusted was really important to us and Kelly made the entire process stress free. She was incredibly organised and collaborative, and I loved all our planning meetings. She also has great relationships with wonderful vendors and never steered us wrong – all her recommendations were amazing and we loved all the vendors she put us in contact with.Â
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
Our photographer, Sebastian Paynter, was incredible. He was incredibly relaxed and personable, and the wedding party and all our guests loved him. He was able to capture some incredible couple shots, shots of the venue and all our guests that we will cherish forever. We particularly loved all the beautiful candid moments he captured.Â
We also had an incredible florist, Lydia from Stem Haus. She created the most stunning florals in textured greens, white and a tiny pop of pink. She also created two amazing hanging floral installations that looked even more beautiful than I could have imagined. She was incredibly collaborative and did a great job of explaining the trade offs when making decisions on our wedding florals.
